do you even read the previous posts before posting?!?! do you follow the NBA news at all?!?!?

the Twolves did not want players - they wanted only picks...per the salary cap rules the Rox could not offer this kind of package

I still think the rockets should have let Tmac's contract expired and traded Battier for an expiring contract before last trade deadline.

It doesn't matter what they did or didn't want..My point was if daryl is such a "genius" like most people on these boards claims he his, he should have at least offered something, gathered some kind of deal to show he hasn't completely given up. You don't start off a reply sarcasticly questioning wether i keep up with previous posts or follow nba news at all. If you have information on the transaction that im looking past, then leave it at that. You can relax i wasnt personally attacking you.

Thats another question.... why do people on these forums gets so defensive and angry? Its ok for people to post there opinions on the team and its transactions without people freaking out right?! I guess not, i just thought were a little more civil.

It's the same thing every time some team makes a splash, people complain about Morey not making moves or making a small move but what happens in the long run??? Patience, please, and you might be suprised what happens.

I can not believe Jazz let go of Kyle Korver. He's a pretty good player imo. We should get him too.

So the Jazz essentially traded Carlos Boozer and 2 first round picks for an injury prone, drunk driving center? Nice!

I hope I am wrong, but every single year, those plans are eventually trumped by Les' refusal to pay even $1 of lux tax. I hope he will finally prove me wrong this year.

I don't really understand folks. Our Rocket team is looking pretty damn good. DM was going for a superstar, not semi-move who has suffered a bad injury.

    AB/Lowry
    KM/JT
    Ariza/Shane/Bud
    Scola/Hill/PP/Jefferies
    Yao/Hayes/Anderson

Our starting 5 is good enough to win (if healthy) against any team.

Scola in my mind is the best PF for the Rockets (since we lost Bosh). Scola clearly has the ability to be a 20/10 player if he got the shots and minutes.

Scola is a winner and unselfish.

Your right, it is the same thing, because we have been patient for 3 years and nothing! DM aplogists always wanna say...just wait, just wait. Well we have waited, i think people have the right now to start becoming a little weary of our GM who has not gotten past the second round ever.

I wouldn't trade either of the Knicks picks for Jefferson. Those picks are going to be top 10 or top 5 picks most likely and the Rockets will get someone much better than Jefferson. I would however trade either or both picks for Rubio from the Wolves.

Morey looks not just at raw stats, let's remember this. Jefferson's per 48 minute stats versus some current Rockets and Brad Miller:

    Jefferson 25.3 PPG, 13.8 Reb/G, 1.9 Blocks/G 2.7 Assist/G

    Hill 19 PPG, 14.8 Reb/G, 1.5 Blocks/G, 1.8 Assist/G

    Brad Miller 17.8 PPG, 9.9 Reb/G, 0.7 Blocks/G, 3.8 Assist/G

Add in the fact that Jefferson is THE guy on that Minnesota team and it makes his stats even less impressive. It is simply not worth it for the Rockets to give up any of their good assets for Jefferson when you have Jordan Hill and possibly Brad Miller that can capably back up Yao at a much lower cost. Giving up what Utah gave up for Al Jefferson would have been a HUGE MISTAKE.

This is a terrible analysis of what Morey has done. This has been talked about over and over again on this board but I'll say it again, the Rockets roster was a train wreck when he took over. He took that train wreck and turned into a team that took the Lakers to 7 games WITHOUT YAO OR MCGRADY. Had Yao not gotten hurt the Rockets could quite possibly have GOTTEN OUT OF THE 2ND ROUND. Morey can't help it that his star players get hurt. It just goes to show how great a job he has done that the rest of the team took the Lakers to game 7.

Then look at last year, still no Yao and yet the Rockets win 42 games without a center and a very young PG. You're delusional in your assessment of Morey. You do realize that if not for Morey's brilliant moves of picking guys like Scola, Landry, Budinger, Brooks, etc. the Rockets would have won about 12 games last year. Terrible post.

His been on the job 3 FREAKING years and has improved the squad each year, it's not his fault the foundation keeps breaking on him. Did you really think Al Jefferson was going to make us a Championship contender??? If we trade for him then we are going to suffer through Salary cap hell for 3 years and probably have lost a young player and draft pick. Al Jefferson is nice but wasn't a difference maker.

If Daryl was able to get a superstar without health concerns, would fit the team concept, etc., Les will not have a problem paying the luxury tax. There hasn't been a player they have deemed worthy to go way over the tax. It will be tested this season depending on what Scola and Lowry get.

Daryl has also done a good job taking a personal effort to not be over the luxury tax.

    Fixed.

Not getting us out of the second round...? Are you serious...? DM was the one who GOT us to the second round, and before that, fans were concerned about getting out of the FIRST round for a DECADE. DM was only here for, what, 3 years? Give credit where it is due. He's done more than any other GM could have possibly hoped to have done.

You guys are still proving my point! You say its not his fault the foundation of team keeps getting hurt, but it is!! We have slow 7' 6" center, while he puts up good numbers....If hes not playing because hes hurt then he is no use to us. DM should have traded him before he got hurt again so we couldve gotten something for him. A good GM should not rest the future of the franchise on the shoulders of a slow injury prone 20 and 10 guy. Its silly.
Mark my words, yao will get hurt again this year because thats what he does!! And when he does and we have no one else....welcome back to mediocrity. Way to settle DM, rockets fans.
