Lol he was going to want to leave any ways but now he has a scapegoat. He thought he was going to have to throw Rudy under the bus but now he can get all pissy about them firing his coach.
Jazz roster isnt that good to begin with. The Jazz didnt just make the playoffs they had a high seed the past couple of years. Lets start with Mitchell he has Hardenitis and doesnt defend anymore. Who are his teammates? Mike Conley, Bogdan Bogdanovic and some pf scrub. Only Gobert is a plus defender on their team and in the playoffs he gets wrecked by small ball. In the past they did have some good perimeter defender but those guys also sucked on offense. So while the Jazz has enough talent to make the playoffs they have some serious gaps that teams can exploit since their players are only good on one side of the ball. On the whole I think Snyder did a great job on the Jazz.
Oct 2020 - Ryan Smith buys the Jazz from the Miller family. Dec 2021 - Jazz hires president Danny Ainge. May 2022 - Quinn gets hip surgery after a disappointing playoffs. Quinn still has two years left with an option on final year. Reportedly an extension was offered to Snyder. June 2022 - Quinn steps down and doesn't finishes out his contract. Sounds a like a guy who needs a break and decided not to stick around with the new regime.
To Knicks Donovan Mitchell John Wall Azubuike To Jazz Christian Wood JaeSean Tate Alec Burks Evan Fournier Kemba Walker #3 pick Future pick from Knicks To Rockets RJ Barrett Cam Redish Mike Conley Julius Randle #11 pick Jazz rebuild around Butler/Fournier backcourt. They pick up Wood to pair with Gobert. They then get a premium pick to build around. Possibly Ivey or Banchero... Fournier is only long term money coming back. Knicks get Mitchell without dealing 5 future picks and swaps which would be very risky. They pickup Wall to pair with him for a season and then get cap relief for someone to play with Mitchell. Redish and Barrett may be on the outs with coach tom... they are due long term money soon and may not want to lock in roster. Rockets get Barrett who may have more upside than Banchero or Ivey. They take on Randle to rehab his value and replace Wood. This also takes them out of running for max free agent in a weak year. They still pick up a late lottery pick to target a defensive big... Lineup Conley Green Barrett Randle Sengun Bench Gordon Porter Redish Christopher Martin Nwaba Mathews Garuba Nix 2 rookies? Mark Williams? Have 2 cut a few guys so more trades could come along... Fyi, this assumes the Rockets aren't in love with who is there at 3 or the free agent crop in a year...
You're not winning with Gobert as your C and him playing major minutes. They reached their ceiling every year. solid regular season, early playoff exit once you can expose their glaring weaknesses. Simple as that.
Not meant to be a point made in either direction just wondered what the answer to the question was regarding their record compared to the rest of the league during his time as their coach. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/best-nba-record-last-8-seasons
All I'm saying is I bet Donovan is renting and not owning his home in Salt Lake. He is the classic guy a team deals a couple high lottery picks for and he leads you to 47 wins before he fades out..... Blazers and Knicks would be a good fit.
Word is Donovan wants out and he wants Miami? Herro + ____, ___ , ___. = Donovan or Do they still say Herro has too much upside? Rocket River
I was having a good morning, then this rolled up on my Twitter feed and now I want to vomit. Seriously though, that beer can graphic was awful. Don’t understand why they would want to return to that when the music note ‘J’ is such a great logo.
