Spurs fans especially on Spursreport.com are incredibly respectful and knowledgeable. I really like reading their forum. They have a surprising amount of love for us and appreciation. It makes me sad how much hate Rockets fans have for the Spurs considering how closely linked the two team's focus on defense is/was. I have tremendous respect for David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Sean Elliot, and even Manu Ginobili once the bad aftertaste of his flopping goes away. These guys are very humble and down-to-earth players too. It still feels great reading forums besides the Spurs, who always give us love, and know that our love and pride for our team goes beyond simply rooting for our hometown's NBA team.
Before game 6 a Laker fan was telling me that it was all over, Houston we have a problem and that we don't stand a chance but right after game 6 he changed his mouth quickly and surprisingly almost giving up on his Lakers. He said Lakers are playin like they don't wanna win and that he hopes Houston wins. I said, "c'mon don't change ya words on me nah. We lost both our centers and a guy 6'6'' is getting the job done." GET RED OR GET SCARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every team has some D-Bag fans. I've even known some here in Houston. I will gladly take props from any teams fans, we can use all the support we can get. When next season starts, it's all business again and hating on the Jazz is always a top priority. For now, Jazz fans welcome to cheer.
The Rockets have not shown balls yet. The only way you can tell me the Rockets have balls is when they decide to show what ROCKETS RED means to them when the refs fix the game. They have balls if they kick some ass tonight, literally, so Fisher, Sasha ****-a-b****, Kobe and the whole officiating crew should all be on the floor BLEEDING !!!
The rockets earned this respect. You can hate someone and still respect them. Stockton and Malone. Hated them but respected their game. Same with Kobe. Huge Dbag but I respect his game. All that said... Go Rockets!!! Shock the world.
Sometimes I get you. Sometimes I thinking, "WTF?" Man, if you're this mad now, I pray we win so you don't go postal on us.
My world is getting turned upside down. Respect and praise from the Jazz? My hatred for the Jazz was always predicated on the fact it was mutual. This can't be just a one-sided thing!?
every mav and spur fan i know has been rooting for the rockets this entire series. i haven't met anyone outside of a laker fan who doesn't have some sort of disdain for the lakers. it's kinda how the yankees have turned out. kinda makes me love this country even more.
I've heard from friends who are Knicks, Spurs, Pistons and Hornets fans this weekend who are unanimously behind the Rockets in this game. It's really energizing how much love this team is generating around the NBA and around the world! Can't wait for today's game!
If I was a nuggets fan, I might fear the Rockets more than the Lakers honestly... It's hard to shake off the Lakers perceived reputation, but this series has shown they are not dominating force the sports media will have you believe.
Interesting to read some of their comments. My bud is a Spurs fan, and he says he really likes this Rockets team. Like that thread said, they put it all on the line....all heart.
LOL.....a fan on spursreport posted this in the "How huge would a Game Seven LA/Houston upset be?" thread.
