If he is worth 1.7 then he is back. He may be a great comeback story, but he is not going to be a difference maker anywhere this season -- or perhaps ever again?

Today is the Rox issue, and Damon seems poised to answer today's call.

Head and/or Span and/or ??? belong to tomorrow.

I forgot about Span... is he part of our plans? I know he did well this year in Europe, but why couldnt he make it to summer league play?

....... Jeez, we have way too many guards.

The only reason that Padgett opted out is because he was playing under a minimum contract, and with the new CBA the minimum will be increased. It might not be a huge increase (perhaps a few thousand bucks) but every little bit counts and he will be making more money this year than he opted out of. He's certainly worth a minimum contract and might get a multi-year deal at that, so it's a win/win situation for him to opt out.

If the Rox are interested in bringing him back, I'm sure he would re-sign. He could still be worthwhile off the bench in certain matchups. Otherwise with his shooting I bet he would land with a team like Miami.

Next year will be a better year to add flyers. This year with Baker, Ward, Norris and Spoon taking up roster spots, any new additions must be able to produce this year.

Stoud is a nobrain for the LEE, I'd probably S&T for him too (Wesley 1st choice, or James).

If the raise is 3.5% as reported that is about 30,000 more. Not chump change. Nice move by him. He will sign on somewhere.

Mighty Mouse, He's not afraid to put up 3's that he more than likely will hit. He can handle the rock, run the break, great offensive game, a vet, and most important... TMac endorces him.

    Yao / Deke
    Swift / Howard / Baxter
    TMac / Sura
    Wesley / Barry / Sura
    Damon / James / Head

IR: Glover, Moochie, Ward, Baker, Spoon

God bless, We really need to move

    1. Spoon
    2. Baker
    3. Moochie
    4. Ward

They are just wasting bench space and Les's money.

Ward although I hear has been working hard to come back to NBA shape and I feel like he can contribute if 100%... at least bringing the ball up court and rotating the ball to Yao or Tmac; and hit the occassional 3.

    Baker: waste, and wasted

Spoon: plays hard, past his prime... please move him

Moochie: i have absolutely nothing to say

CD... keep up the great work, lets move some pieces and get some players back.

Damon is 32 years old, and NOT getting any younger.

He is not a pure PG, but rather a SHORT scoring guard who can also pass.

I would pass on Damon....even though Tmac wants him.....Tmac remembers him when he was 25 or 26, lots of wear on the short mans body in those years.

Damon has peaked, and will begin to decline...FAST.....Jay.....well, he may be a bust but would be a cheap alternative.

Heck, I would go to war with the Guards we have and Swift...I think that may be enough.

We don't know if Jay Williams is physically able to play in the NBA anymore. We know Damon Stoudamire is.

I don't foresee a massive nosedive in Damon's performance. And for all the talk of Damon not being a "pure point guard", he is a player who can run an offense. He moves the ball past halfcourt quickly, gets a team into its sets smoothly, he can pop the three off the dribble or in a catch & shoot, he can penetrate and create, and he can run or finish a fast break. If that's not a pure point guard, it's not a bad alternative.

From what I know about Jay Williams right now, he's a MAJOR risk. A shell of his former self. And his former self couldn't hit free throws.

I'll take veteran leadership and Mighty Mouse over question marks and Jay Williams.

Are you guys serious? Who knows if Jay Will can even play. You can knock Damon all you want about not being a true pg, but the guy was the starting pg on some pretty good teams and he does get his assists and he takes care of the ball.

Edit: When did Jay Will become a pass first pg anyway? Stoudamire is a better version of Jay Will's game.

Didn't this Williams cat shoot his limo driver? Or am I confusing him with that White Licorice guy?

Lot of J Williams'. This one wiped out on a motorcycle, nearly lost his life. His BB career over, definitely. Except it may not be. Resurrection city.

Memphis' is White Chocolate, a skilled fellow without apparent brain function.

The one time Net/6er was a rebounding freak who threw a huge party, then without apparent brain function shot his limo driver and tried to cover it up.

    All clear?

I'd take Damon Stoudamire, it's a no-brainer. Williams wasn't a good PG when he was healthy.

Exactly! Stoudamire is a career 15-7 PG so he can score and pass the ball, and those numbers would go up with the Rockets. He's a true PG who can run the show and shoot from the outside. I really believe he would do for our offense what Nash does for Phoenix and Tony Parker for the Spurs.

If I was that guy, I would change my name so people didn't confuse me with Kellen Winslow.

He already changed his name already, sort of. He went by Jason Williams before Jayson Williams (the former NJ Net) got in trouble. I think he changed his public name to Jay to avoid confusion.

If you just mean play center, since that was in boldface, I agree. He would 4-deep behind Yao, Deke and even SS, but in an emergency he wouldn't be completely unfamiliar with the position. I do think he has rookie capabilities in the rest of his game and is ahead of Padgett.

Bingo. At this point, Jay Williams can't even DUNK the ball. I think every player in the league can dunk it. Sure, he's a point guard, but he's a PG who built his reputation on quickness and athleticism -- both of which he left near that telephone pole he hit. I say we take Mighty Mouse and let some other team make the Williams mistake.
