Carlos Boozer, former Duke teammate, is saying that he spoke to Jay over the phone. Says Jay can't feel his left leg after his pelvic surgery. Hope it's just Jay being overly anxious over the phone while discussing his injuries.
This nearly happened RECENTLY to my sister-in-law. About a year ago, she got stuck on a plane for 10 hours. She said her leg bothered her after that. About six weeks ago, she had arthroscopic surgery for a partially torn ligament in her knee. After surgery her calf was bothering her unusually. She was massaging it to try to get some relief. She had a followup visit scheduled and told her doctor about the calf problem. He looked into it, found a blood clot, threw her into a wheelchair and rolled her into Hospital Admitting post haste where she stayed for 6 days. They started her on Cumadin and she is stay on it for at least six months. She very easily could have died-- especially because of the leg massaging that she was doing to make her calf feel better. The doctor had to cover his eyes and Thank God when he heard about those lower leg massages she undertook to get relief. A clot or part of a clot could easily have been dislodged and caused the kind of devastaton indicated here. BTW, she is a very fit woman at age 54.
i read this too. it kind of bothers me that his family is tight lipped about the situation (as the bulls are) and suddenly this friend of his blabs it to the reporters.
Well, we have to keep in mind that Jay also suffered nerve damage in the pelvic area stemming from this horrific crash. This is probably why he has lost some feeling in that leg if that is the case.
Well Giddyup, I am glad to see that everything turned out fine in your situation. My sister broke her leg recently in a car crash in which my family was hit by a drunk driver on 59 at the Galleria area at 9 in the morning. Worst of all, the driver fled the scene. She is also on Cumadin due to blood clots that formed in her leg after surgery. She will probably be taken off of it around Spetember. But it was also a VERY CLOSE CALL for her as well. She is okay for now, and hopefully that will stay the same.
