Kerry Rhodes: I wanna apologize to cutler if he tore a ligament in his knee! Not good. And I didn't criticize him I actually apologized if he was seriously hurt so don't tweet me.
I see it now. It's in the GB/Chi game thread http://mobile.twitter.com/hood305star/status/29306639316160514 But that wasn't Chris Johnson that said the Vagina thing. Johnson asked what happened to him and whoever "Hood305star" is said that about Cutler.
If the guy wasn't such a douche all of the players wouldn't have pilled on him like they did. I don't feel sorry for him at all.
Those players that are still sticking my their guns look even more foolish, esp Deion since he was well known as one of the true tough guys of the league.....
This is something I've never understood either. People make him out to be a whiny brat or something just because he wanted out of Denver because of a coach who turned out to be garbage and cost that team their QB and top WR. Considering how McDaniel's tenure turned out, I'd say Cutler was right to want out.
If a player feels he is going to hurt his team by playing, then what's wrong with taking himself out? For example, if Mario Williams felt his season-long injury was slowing him down to the point that he was ineffective, then whats wrong with pulling yourself out to help the team? If you feel you aren't able to play well enough to help the the team win, then why not?
lol the way it was posted I could see why you took it that way. If I didn't see Chris Johnson page I would have thought he said it too.
Sprained, not torn http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/news/story?id=6054047 I think a lot of the criticism came because (a) he's not well liked around the league, by players or fans (or teammates) (b) he was terrible before going out and it smelled of an out (c) it was win or go home time, and people expect to see you limping worse than a Vietnam vet before bowing out I can't speak for whether someone could play on a hurt leg or not, so I won't attempt to. Being honest, I wouldn't want "**** It I'm Going Deep" Cutler trying to lead a rally on a bum leg. He's a bad INT machine as it stands.
LANK Here's where the disconnect becomes personal with Cutler, though. One of the more respected players in the NFL today, LaDainian Tomlinson, is never slammed by current or former players on Twitter. In fact, most players consider the future Hall of Famer an elite person on an off the field. And yet in the last three years, Tomlinson has taken himself out of playoff games because of a migraine and, just as Jay Cutler did yesterday, a knee injury. The difference: Tomlinson's knee was sprained. Cutler had a torn MCL. Nobody in the league questioned Tomlinson's toughness when he forgot to pack a couple Advil for a road game. And nobody went on record trashing his "intestinal fortitude" when he couldn't play the second half of a playoff game against Indianapolis in January of 2008... and yet now players are teeing up Cutler? Pathetic. I expect idiot talking heads like Bill Platchke and Jay Mariotti to jump all over Cutler, because it's their job to make people talk. Harris was man enough to take on a sports talk show host that was trashing Cutler from his lay-z-boy in Dallas, obviously someone who had never touched a football. But for former players to take shots? Read more: http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/dai...er-players-need-to-shut-up.html#ixzz1Bz3cZHnd
Thank goodness Chicago didn't tie on that final drive and then win in OT. Looks like they would have had a 3rd string QB making his first career start in the SB. Would've been brutal going up against Pittsburgh's defense.
So it was a sprain and not a tear? Does it make worse for the guy or better, it's a legit injury but not a tear.
