Got caught up on Youtube watching Jason Williams highlights. Damn, what a passer. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HV2SWh_nOEA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The only problem is the passes that aren't in the video. For every crazy pass, there was another that went into the 5th row in the stands. Loved watching the Kings but man for every good pass there was an equally horrible pass.
His elbow pass was one of the most creative NBA moments of all time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-Vq-DO86RE
I still rember when he passed the ball off his elbow. I believe it was the rookie/sophomore game. All i know is that the next day i played pickup ball at airport park in galveston and everyone was trying to do that pass.
Mike Bibby was the PG at the peak of that Kings team. Williams was too undisciplined to carry the team. They traded for Bibby and the team became a top team.
It just shows you that getting a ring is so overrated. That said, Williams was a changed player in Memphis. He finally settled down under Hubie Brown and greatly reduced his boneheaded plays.
His bad passes weren't good when with the Kings. He way toned that down after Sacramento. But really his biggest weakness was his bad shot selection. Or in-ability to make buckets at a reasonable rate, very Rafer Alston-esque. Inefficiency aside, his playmaking ability almost made up for lack of shot making. He did help Grizzlies get their first playoffs appearances. And had an underrated season in the Heat's 1st title
