I really don't think McHale is the worst coach in the league, especially considering he seems to acknowledge his flaws and works with the organization to mitigate the risks of having those flaws. He participated in the search for a defensive assistant coach who, frankly, could be a risk to replace him. He knows that. But he participated. He doesn't impose a strict offensive system on the team and what do we get? A top offensive team. The creativity and productivity of everything (except Harden ISO's) makes it easier for us to score, and he doesn't have to rely on his average X O skills to try to make it happen. Players seem to like him, from what we've heard. He has a likeable personality. The main issue I see here is that his staff is weak and they don't seem to be able to tempt better assistants to join us. If they don't sort that issue out, we may be in for a repeat season. It's good enough for me that he is aware that improving the defense is critical, and they brought in Ariza over Parsons which should help defensively, and may not have any offensive impact. One thing that always strikes me as strange though is that he doesn't seem to be able to develop peoples' post skills. Kevin Love, Kevin Garnett and now Dwight. These guys have not improved in the post when Kevin McHale was around them. I think he was certainly a very gifted PF in his day, but he doesn't seem to be able to transfer that knowledge. That could be because he's just not a good teacher, and maybe that's what Dwight is laughing about here. Which might annoy McHale, but it wouldn't be a big deal.
I'd rather have JJ Barea on the Rockets instead of frickin Jason Terry. The T Wolves aren't gonna resign him, and that would have been a much better option off the bench than Terry.
So false, especially concerning Kevin Garnett, who had his post game explode in his prime, when McHale was working with him. KGs repertoire of post moves in his prime were downright scary.

I'm not sure how you'd possibly come to this conclusion. His staff IS the reason he was able to survive in the regular season. When his top lead assistant left, the Rockets fell apart. The playoffs was just icing on the cake. Mchale sucks. No other way we can put it dude
Josh Powell's a 31 year old role playing scrub, and you expect the Rockets to keep him just because he's cool with Dwight?
This doesn't count out a big upgrade before the season starts, it only narrows the list of 4 down to 2 Dragic and Rubio are still possibilities. So this is a good thing.
Jones+NOP pick to Phoenix with Goran sliding into the TPE seems like fair value on both sides. If they are willing to trade him at all it is because they are going to lose him.
Will everybody here just chill out a little ? gawd off season is too long. If Terry goes off on the mavs preseason you'll be blowing kisses and you know it !
