One plus about this trade is if we keep him is that he adds another option at outside shooting other than Troy Daniels. Delfino can be another option from 3.

It can be a great deal if Morey can draft someone better than Alonzo Gee.

    Morey was also a Celtic.

I read a tweet saying they didn't have interest in Barea when they traded for Terry. I would love to see Shved on this team!

Just a couple points here about this trade:

    1. From Sacramento's perspective they dump Terry and have trade exceptions to take the players we send them into...thereby creating a fresh $5.8 million TPE for themselves and move away from the luxury tax line and be able to possibly retain some of those other non-guaranteed contract players like Sim Bhullar if they like him coming out of training camp. If you understand this from Sacramento's perspective you will realize that they will gladly defer the completion of this deal until the last day of training camp. Because it extends the one-year window for them to use the new $5.8 million TPE they will have after trading Terry. So this all plays into Morey being able to turn this deal into something bigger and different than Terry and 2 second round picks.

    2. Everybody should know this isn't about Jason Terry the player. This trade is about Jason Terry the contract...and the draft picks.

    3. From our perspective we pick up a couple second rounders and a trade-able contract by agreeing to spend up to $5.8 million (the cost of Terry's salary IF we retain him for the balance of the season)

However....the most likely scenario for these picks and the Terry contract is simply to flip to another team for something more useful to us......like possibly Irsan Ilyasova, Brandon Bass, or maybe even Paul Millsap. Although in Millsap's case we probably won't be able to swap for him straight up. Probably have to throw in Terrence or another future second rounder or perhaps one of our future first rounders for him.

But with Ilyasova....you could POSSIBLY see a deal for him by sending MIL the picks and Terry's contract. That might be enough to get him. And same goes for Brandon Bass. Either Ilyasova or Brass could be acquired by combining Gee's, Hopson's, and Powell's contracts. So the Terry trade could grow to a 3-team deal with either MIL or Boston or possibly even Atlanta. OR perhaps even Denver for Faried.

We're not trading for Terry to keep him or put him in the rotation. We're trading for Terry to get to another deal using Terry and the picks.

Considering we'd be giving up Canaan in the trade, and would likely have to cut Ish Smith, I think Barea would be nice.

    PG: Beverley, Barea
    SG: Harden, Daniels, Terry
    SF: Ariza, Papanikolaou, Garcia
    PF: Jones, Motiejunas, Adrian
    C : Howard, Dorsey

    Inactive: Capela, Johnson

But yeah Shved would work too, all the trades would work great.

Jason Terry gave his last bit of good play to Dallas in 2011. Dude has been irrelevant since, this trade is about the two 2nd rounders (which ain't ****).

Trade means nothing as far as how good we are gonna be this year..... terry won't play much and that's a good thing.

lol. If Terry is playing 15-20 minutes for you a night you are ****ed.... simple as that. Dude is washed up and don't insult Ray Allen by putting this scrub in the same category as Ray

I like the roster as is. We just added two draft picks. Why does everyone think that D-Mo and T-Jones are at their ceiling? They are young as hell and will both be better this season. Howard will be at 100 percent and with a year under their belt will have better chemistry. Only thing is our coach still sucks.

We have enough salary and assets now to go after both Ilyasova and Rondo. It could happen. Send the two seconds and Terry to Milwaukee for Ilyasova. Send Jones, Pap, NO pick, what ever non-guaranteeds we have left to Boston for Rondo. It would leave us extremely thin but we would probably have the most well rounded starting 5 in the NBA.

    Rondo | Canaan
    Harden | Daniels
    Ariza | Garcia
    Ilyasova | Motiejunas | Adrien
    Howard | Dorsey

Why don't we continue to raid the Mavs clearance bin for scrubs.......
I hear Sacramento just waived Wayne Ellington, former Mav, get on it Morey.
How about Josh Howard..... i hear he got game still

Copeland would be an excellent addition to the Rockets. With that trade, the rockets will have 18 players under contract though. The Rockets will have to cut or trade three players. A combination of Garcia, Smith, Dorsey, Black, or Adrien will have to go. I think that with a good showing in camp that Garcia and Adrien will make the roster. Dorsey is the dark horse of the group because he could be valuable as a backup center and he can help K-Pap transition into the NBA.

Hear, hear! I'm big on Shved being awesome when he's given a fresh start with a new team. That kid is good. I wanted the Rockets to get in the mix I facilitating the Love to Cleveland trade just to pick up Shved.

Well, Black is going to get cut for sure. The only reason he was signed is so that the Vipers can pick him up after he's cut.

24 pages of explaining that we probably didn't trade for Terry to put him in the rotation - but rather as a contract consolidation for another trade and adding a couple picks to our assets, yet still people post their dislike of the trade based on terry's presumed diminished abilities...

There should be some kind of requirement to READ before posting your own born of ignorance kneejerk reaction...

hit reply button and get "I'm sorry, you have only viewed 1 page of a 24 page thread, you must review at least 25% of the pages before offering your own commentary..."

    jus sayin... lol
