Mavs are investigating because they cannot win by playing Basketball. Just like when Cuban reported Yao's "moving screens" two years ago. Poor losers.

If this happened during a game with him falling into fans on the baseline, I cannot imagine anything being done to him.

The Warriors need to keep it together just long enough to beat Dallas then implode emotionally as a team against the Rockets in the second round.

DALLAS -- It has to be the leading candidate for Best Game of Round 1: Dallas 118, Golden State 112.

So what could spoil the mood heading into Thursday's massive Game 6?

    League discipline, of course.

Here's hoping both teams are full strength Thursday for such an important one, but we've got a couple situations to monitor after Tuesday's roller-coaster Game 5 in Big D:

    • NBA observers in the building interviewed multiple spectators after the game about an alleged tangle between Golden State's Jason Richardson and a Mavs fan sitting across from the Dallas bench. Richardson fell after a shot and tempers appeared to flare when the Warriors' swingman felt he was being impeded as he tried to get up to rejoin the game. Because the Mavs' fan filed a report with NBA security, league officials are expected to review the incident.

    • Golden State's Stephen Jackson was kicked out with 8.9 seconds to play to make it two ejections for Jackson in the Warriors' two losses in this series. Jackson maintains he was unfairly expelled this time for clapping -- the same offense that got Baron Davis ejected from Game 2 -- but it remains to be seen whether the league plans to tack on a penalty in addition to Don Nelson's post-game vow to fine his primary Dirk Nowitzki defender "a substantial amount." NBA commissioner David Stern said Friday in Oakland, after Jackson was fined $50,000 for his first ejection and mostly for not leaving the court in a timely manner, that Jackson's past transgressions didn't factor into the punishment. "But the next one will," Stern added.

PS -- Dallas' Jason Terry shoving Baron Davis near the Warriors' bench might get a look as well, since it received plenty of TV time postgame, but a few folks who have seen the replay (I haven't yet) insist there was a flop involved.

this league is getting out of hand if you ask me.

first, duncan gets kicked out for laughing on the bench.
second, davis gets kicked out for clapping
third, jackson gets kicked out for clapping and may get suspended?

a decade or two ago, the refs wouldnt have even acknowledged players that do this. I believe this is a pitiful way to affect the games, at least in the first two scenerios.

i am starting to disrespect league officials and david stern if this continues during the playoffs.

whats next, rafer alston will get thrown out for kissing bavetta on the scalp?

It sounds to me like some drunken dallas credit card millionaire type got a little too big for his poop-stained britches and tried to hold Richardson back as he was trying to get up. Richardson probably just pushed him away so he could get back into the game. Doesn't surprise me that the fan "filed a report". He's probably just trying to get Richardson suspended so his gay team will have a better chance at winning.

But then again, I am just a little biased against dallas. Could you tell?

The Warriors players are passionate nuts, and they are not smart. However, it's shameful that those refs are provoking them to do stupid things, instead of controlling the situation. Look at their expression, it's almost like "yeah, I am pissing you off, what can you do?". Playoff games with its highest intensity, you threw guys out randomly for clapping. Yes, they weren't happy about the calls, but are you guys Sadam? He's not happy, you can just screw him left and right?

Let them compete and play the game. And I hate Kenny's comment about gracious losers. They are not, so what? They are not modern citizens, but that doesn't mean they should be screwed by "unbiased, nonpartisan, and professional" referees.

If anyone gets suspended it should be Terry. Yes, Davis overacted but Terry just flat out threw him to the floor

That's exactly what I think. The Mavs punk just tried to grab J Rich not letting him get back to the game and then claimed he got shoved or something. A fine at best.

Funny post. You should know the league office requests the tape from the arena after an altercation.

fyi, wfaa is abc channel 8 in dallas, and the author eddie sefko is the mavs beat writer for the dallas morning news. it was hearsay but it did come from a reliable source :D

but i'll agree with you and r2k that it's usually questionable, and a better idea to skip posting from other forums all together.
