The old Astros outfielder just played in his first MLB game since 2007 and PITCHED 3 and 1/3 scoreless innings. This is a truly inspiring story from one of the old good guys. http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=340603125
That is awesome. Kazmir and Lane coming (back) up through the Skeeters. Stros better keep their eye on Tmac!
This was written a month ago. Happy for the guy. http://www.crawfishboxes.com/2014/5/1/5670458/tcb-daily-boil-a-jason-lane-update
Brooks Kieschnick did something similar about a decade ago, being both a reliever and a pinch hitter for Milwaukee for a couple of years. He was a little younger though and didn't have nearly as long as a layoff. Pretty cool story for Lane, though.
He'll always hold a special place for me as he squeezed the final out for the 'stros to win their first (and what will likely be their only) NL pennant.
One guess who caught the last out when we won the pennant? Our last victory that season... smh. Congrats on Part II of your baseball career, Jason.
