Pretty genius. That said he's a terrible coach and should be fired. Glad too he saved this for a meaningless game.

but Kidd is one of their problems.

reminds me so much of the Lakers start to last season.

It is a cheap shot but a big coaching move!
He just show to his team no matter of your age, you can still make move to win.

It is only 50K, so what!

If you're gonna do that... at least learn a few tricks from a ventriloquist.

It would be epic if the stunt actually won them the game.

    what are you talking about?

It is cheating and wrong. He was out of timeouts and his team was only down by a couple. You can't cheat your way into a timeout. I don't even know why I have to explain that to some people. It just shows that there are many with low moral standing on here.

50K isn't nearly enough for the disgrace he brought.

completely bush league, no doubt about it.

Kidd was trying to impress a rookie with his slick strategy (because everyone knows a veteran like KG wouldn't have participated in such shenanigans), and then completely allows his assistant to draw up the (botched) play during the fake timeout that HE angled for.

that's not a big coaching move.

that's a move by a point guard who is in over his head and has no business coaching.

Completely agreed. Grey areas and bending the rules are one thing, but out right cheating is pathetic. As others stated, you would never see some of the good coaches out there doing something like this. Kidd is clearly out of his league.
They would probably win more games with him on the court as a player and no coach.

It's not a new trick, just an old one that veteran coaches wouldn't do now, at least not in the regular season. He should have saved it for the playoffs (if they make it), because now the punishment for doing it again will be a lot steeper than $50k. Van Gundy had the decency to pull his $100k stunt in the playoffs.
