Are you sure? How can you pull someone's hair when he is wearing a helmet? Most of the long-haired dudes are defensive players, no? Even the NFL does not allow intentional hitting of the head. Neck injury is a very dangerous thing.

    btw, it was a flagrant.

    Section IV--Flagrant Foul
    a. If contact committed against a player, with or without the ball, is interpreted to be unnecessary, a flagrant foul--penalty (1) will be assessed.

Lin took the foul like a man. Got up, didn't complain or whine about a flagrant. Unlike some fans here. Neither did his teammates or coaches. If you thought this was a flagrant, try watching 80s-90s ball. Your head will explode.

I grew up in the 80's watching basketball. Doesn't mean getting mugged or roughed up should be allowed or accepted. Poor argument.

These are professionals paid to play basketball, not paid to punch each other or wrestle each other. Especially when a foul is committed with high probability of injury.

Yeah, Lin did take it like a man and didn't complain. He's been doing that all along with the dozen or more games played so far. Still, refs need to do their job and stamp out fouls that could result in injury. If the perpertrator gets away with it one time, what makes you think he won't try it again? Not called for.

I watched plenty of 80s 90s ball. There were lots of hard fouls. If you don't know the difference between hard fouls and dirty fouls, then I don't know what to say.

Charles Oakley, Bill Laimbeer gave hard fouls. Karl Malone, Bruce Bowen gave dirty fouls.

Slamming your body into the offensive player when you try to block a shot is a hard foul. Putting an elbow in a player's rib flying in for a layup is a dirty foul. Undercutting is a dirty foul. Pulling the guys head backward slamming him down on the floor is dirty foul.

Hard fouls put your own body as well as the other guy's into harms way. Dirty foul only aims to hurt the other guy potentially seriously without risking your own body. Dirty foul is cowardice.
