i think MoT would be 22-8 on that team. what i also think is funny is how stephen jackson's playing so hard for a contract. i wonder how good he would be on a good team.
He was on a championship team last year, and though his numbers weren't quite as good, he wasn't given nearly the freedom to do what he seemingly can, and, in the end, he still performed well in the playoffs. He will get paid more than he turned down last season, which is a nice story if you ask me.
i just wonder why the spurs were just more than happy to let him go. there must be a story. he demanded too much money or something?
Manu Ginobilli + cheaper options (Horry, Hedo). The Spurs gave him an offer that was ok, just not what he was hoping for...looked like he was going to get burned, but it has turned out well for him.
A healthy Mo Taylor has the skills and abilities to be an impact player on any team. The type of game he has is comparable to Chris Webber. MoT has a better post game and jump shot. The only difference is Chris Webber has desire and a motor that keeps him going to get tough rebounds, blocks, and respect from the officials. Seriously, Mo Taylor on a lot of teams would give you around 18 & 8 a game.
Spurs offered him MLE-type money I believe, and he turned it down. His agent's initial offer was 10M. If you ask me, he's not worth a penny more than 4M. Too many turnovers for a complimentary player who doesn't handle the ball much. He also whines to the media too much and thinks he's better than he actually is. In the right system, he could be terriffic. But I don't think he realizes his limitations.
whoa... what a statement. i also think that there's a little difference in size and athleticism as well. at least when webber was in good shape.
Webber is listed as 6'10" and 245 with Mo Taylor at 6'9" and 255. Taylor looks like he could lose a few pounds and a full season healthy would result in a very athletic Taylor. To this day on the top 10 countdown for the plays of the week for NBA Action they show Mo Taylor's tomahawk dunk (over Bradley???) in the background, and it is one mean dunk. Don't get me wrong, Taylor will never post a season of 27 and 11. Webber found an ideal situation in Sac where he can get a lot of fast break points (an advantage CWebb has over MoTay.) But give Taylor a chance when healthy and in shape, and I feel he will be able like the Farmer's Market ... he will produce daily (kind of a stretch with the simile, I know)
Collier is a good SOLID role player I don't regret him leaving like KT he was the odd man out. I thought he had good hands down low and a soft touch. Good to see him still in the league BTW what ever happened to Langhi? Rocket RIver
wow, glad people liked my story. thanks for the compliments. It's just that whenever i hear the name 'Jason Collier', i am reminded about the 'three dwarves who wanted to get into the guiness book of world records' joke from last year's joke thread. dunno if anyone remembers that but I lmao on that one.
KT had chemistry with the rox and ming. the rox were actually playing well with KT in the lineup. Ming's slump and the Rox's too coincided with Posey's arrival. Thankfully Posey headed over to Memphis.
Basically KT leaving was because we had Griffin being the man of the future with his skills...too bad the skills with the gun were just as good as on the court at times.
I feel good for him, unfortunally, i feel we will get burned by Nachbar when or if he gets traded, hopefully that wont happen though.
Nachbar? is he really better than jaric, welsch, or radmanovic? even if he is slighter better, we can deal with that. he deserves a chance to have more minutes, meanwhile the rockets need proven commodities.
Last game against the Sonics, we couldn't handle Radmanovic, Jaric has been injured most of the season and i don't know who Welsch is, is he the dude from Boston?
i thought so too the games we lost WAITING on Posey to get acclimated and then the games we lost with rudy going down . . . were our downfall Rocket River
