Clippers looking to trade Dudley: https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/status/430944945084461056 When asked on Twitter what current NBA player is most similar to Shane Battier, Morey chose Dudley. Great shooter, good defender, good passer. So, should the Rockets trade for Jared "Battier" Dudley?
Absolutely. We would be so lucky to snag this guy while he is struggling. Having Lin and Dudley off the bench, with Donatas and whatever we get for Omer, would be unbelievable. The Suns had one of the most nasty benches ever, and a large part of the reason was the emotion and intelligence that this guy played with. Also, he is a fantastic shooter and a great locker room presence. YES PLEASE...
He would be a great addition off the bench but the question is... Would the Clippers trade him to us?
Right, Dudley's contract runs one year too long. It's very unlikely that Morey will add an insignificant role player whose contract runs into the 2015/16 season which is when the Rockets look to have major cap space.
It's unfortunate that this point is ignored. Morey won't trade for a player on a long term contract unless they are a star or he feels uber confident he can flip that player.
So what you're saying is Morey's holding back on helping the team get better this year, for cap space next year?
Why would you potentially hamstring the team from making major changes in the future for a player that is struggling and has had a PER of 9 this season? Rockets have near max cap space that summer, why potentially ruin that for a marginal player? His defense has also taken a step back somewhat this season
No thank you. I'd like a wing that can play a little defense. Just a little. Garcia plays more defense than Dudley.
Sigh, when we're looking to Dudley or Dunleavy to save the team off the bench. Morey should've plucked James Johnson out of the D-League when he had the chance.
2013-2014 $4,250,000 2014-2015 $4,250,000 2015-2016 $4,250,000 Player option nope, would rather have had lee, knowing we could move him for a 2nd round pick if we needed cap space for 2015
