As painful as it would be, I would love to go 8 and 25. I am starting to like this draft as far as getting a player we can semi build around if we can get into the top 6 .

    Perry Jones
    Kyrie Irving
    Jared Sullinger
    Terrence Jones
    Derrick Williams

Sorry, Forgot to also mention Kanter.... Not saying those are superstar John Wall type of prospects, but they would be solid building blocks (far superior to the youth options we have now)

It is true that we went 52-30, but when you look at the break down from 90-91 The Rockets were 17-13 before their center's injury, 15-10 without Olajuwon, and then 20-7 with him back in the lineup, to finish at 52-30. (nba.com Rockets history)

The team went .741 after Dreams return, and the difference was that they knew he would return, they weren't dealing with a potential career ending injury for their superstar center.
Like the way our team played last year, thinking that Yao would be back. Now the ship that was built is in the ocean, but no one knows which direction the team is headed in.

Point is, a supporting cast is a supporting cast, if they have no one to support things usually get ugly. In Saying that, we are just IMO 1 to 2 players away.

But I do agree, we had better cast back then.

With Irving's injury and the impending lockout, there's almost no chance of him declaring for the draft. There shouldn't even be any hesitation on his part - his stock will only rise after he come back to shape after the injury heals, and he will be missing out on potential championship runs for the next 3 years if he does otherwise. Same is true for the underperforming Harrison Barnes - if he comes out of his slump (which I bet he will, based on his athletic abilities, work ethic and NC's superb coaching environment), he will be back in the running as the #1 pick in 2012. I've never been high on Perry Jones, but the international prospects should be declaring for this draft and I think it's them that will make everything interesting.
