Monta Ellis took 39 shots in a regulation game today. That is insane. I'm actually an Ellis fan. He doesn't have the highest bball IQ and he plays on a crappy team but he is as dynamic of a scorer as there is in this league. I strongly believe he could be a lethal weapon on a contending team. If you put him in the right environment, with the right coaching staff that could keep him in check, he could put a team on the verge over the top. He just needs to be utilized the right way. I think his perfect role is as a super 6th man a la Jason Terry. The problem is he makes the money of a starter. Then again, Terry and Manu get payed very well as 6th men. Imagine a coach like Popovich working with Ellis, for example. I think he'd get the most out of him.
