Man, I know I'm late but count me on the Durant bandwagon. His shooting is effortless, reminiscent of McGrady at his peak.
Jazz won....this will be alot of preasure for Rockets..... CLE losing to LAC at the half - score: 47 - 56
His early career percentages suggest that he's a much better shooter than McGrady. As durvasa pointed out in another thread, FT% is a good indicator of shooting ability and Durant is at 87% for his career. He also shot over 42% from behind the arc in his second season.
LeBron is shooting 3s at over a 37% clip this season. He's going from unstoppable to super unstoppable.
I can almost guarantee you after the sorry start he had this season, KD will blow out and be a league leader in 3-point FG% next season. Even with his torrid pace the last couple of weeks, he's only up to 34% for the year. It goes without saying he's a better shooter than McGrady.
Durant reminds me of dantley. I'm not sure if what he does equals to winning, but he's a effecient scorer. i don't know if any team he's on will ever be top notch either. When i watch them play, it seems like greene is the barometer of how they play.
The reason Green is the barometer is because he's so inconsistent. It's really frustrating each game wondering which Jeff Green is going to show up. Nearly the same with Westbrook. KD is the Thunder's one constant. Remember, Rafer used to be a barometer of the Rockets. When he played well, it was very tough to be them.
Most people only see the clutch shots Baron has made over his career and he's definitely made a number of them. But, what they don't see, is all the bricks he throws up that don't make the highlights. He's got the courage to be a big shot taker. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the shooting ability of a legit big shot maker.
Rasual Butler and Eric Gordon had big games for the losing side. Maybe they should've let one of those guys take that last shot. It's not like they ran a good play anyway.
He's been overrated for a very long time, especially on this forum. He gained a lot of cred here for leading the upset of the Mavs a few years ago, but that very same regular season, I saw BD mail in quite a few games. It was disgusting. But he climbed to the mountain top in the playoffs. Throughout his career with the Hornets, Warriors and Clippers, BD has had far too many motivational problems for me to respect him much. Another issue for me is the lack of shot discipline which defines his career. Just my 2 cents.
Well said. He was blessed with very good court vision and good size for a PG but the weaknesses you mentioned above prevented him from ever reaching his full potential. Poor shot selection, inconsistent effort and injuries were his downfall. He could've achieved more if he simply had better work ethic and a better approach to the game. He will still be remembered as a good PG in this league, even great at times, but he could've and should've been better with his gifts.
Baron is a big game performer though and that carries alot of weight. I'd rather have a guy triple doubling in critical playoff games than a guy doing vs a losing cellar dwellar. Baron carried those hornets teams when he was there and made big shots along with guarding big 2 guards. GSW is nothing until he and captain jack get together and played huge vs dallas. He's a very moody ball player, but when the game is hot, he's there big time. As for durant, he's a pure scorer and i do agree about green being up and down, but as i watch ok city, i do see durant taking steps. Carmello did the same last year, but carmello has always gotten his team in the playoffs. I think a franchise player should be able to get your team in the playoff regardless of who's on your roster. Look at some of the guys dream had to play with.
