Lame. Edgar really hung in there after getting whupped in the 1st, but there is no way he deserved a 48-46 favor. Fixed.
Agreed. Absolute horse****. Maynard took 1 in a landslide (10-8, most likely, but I honestly considered it a 10-7 round). He also had 3, hands down. No takedowns or serious damage inflicted in 5, but Maynard clearly pushed the pace and attempted to take Edgar to the ground on multiple occasions (a tactic that Rampage was rewarded for just months ago).
Hats off to Edgar, amazing comeback. At first didn't care who would win, but Maynard came off as a real douchebag. Edgar tried to shake hands with him after the fight a couple times, but Maynard just ignored him. Pulling for Edgar in the rematch.
So all three judges scored the 1st round 10-8 in favor of Maynard. Then one judge went the other four rounds for Edgar 10-9, another judge went two rounds each, and the third judge scored three rounds for Edgar and one for Maynard? Yep, I think that adds up to 48-46, 46-48, and 47-47. Good fight.
Eh...IDK I guess i'd score it 47-47 Rd1 Maynard 10-8 Rd2 Edgar 10-9 Rd3 Maynard 10-9 Rd4 Edgar 10-9 Rd5 Edgar 10-9
I scored it four rounds for Edgar too. Third round is a push, but I gave it to Edgar as he was more active and had the sub at the end.
Based on that logic, how did you award Edgar round 5? Maynard was much more active and pushed the pace.
I guess he'll have to wait. I'd like to see him in a tune-up against Melvin "The Young Assassin" Guillard.
Don't think you can have Pettis waiting. He has a title too, they are supposed to unify those belts. If anyone is going to have to wait I think it'll be Maynard.
I hate to say it but eff you haters saying the main event would be boring. Check the 1st 2 pages of this thread.
