I have 2 possible sarcastic alternative responses to add to this thread. they are both as bas as each other....so I couldnt split them. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- We have had 2 go arounds with Mike James. I would've thought that was enough. or.... Jesse James, not sure if he can play basketball at all. Especially since he's been dead for over 100 years.
I thought this would be one of these Mike James or somebody James topic that intentionally make ppl wonder if it's about LBJames and trick us to click in, but i was wrong.
I'm not going to bash the poster because I unlike others think its real possible scenerio. James isn't all about the money, because frankly since he's been pro, his money is stacked. I've created a scenerio where the rox can contend now, upgrade the talent and still have money for James. Jackson, Francis, and 1st rd pick for Al Harrington. Harrington gives the rox a versitile 3/4. He has 2 yrs and 19m left on his contract. With the loss of Davis, and consecutive drafts of Wright and the Randolph, Harrington is on the way out. They need to resign Biedrens and Ellis. Jackson and Francis comes off the books after this season, plus they get a 1st rd pick. Alston and Hayes for Tim Thomas. Thomas is another big versitile forward that can stretch the defense and put the ball on the floor. He has 2 yrs and 10m left. Alston gives the Clipps a backup and Hayes gives them a backup to Brand. Sign Dooling 3 yr 3.5 per. Let Landry Walk. In the summer of 2010, the rox would have Tracy-23m, Harrington-10m,thomas-5m,and Scola-3m. That's 41m in contracts. From there u could determine values of tracy,Harrington,Scola, and Thomas. The team would have a young pg in Brooks and a 29 yr old Yao. Tracy will have just turnes 31,Harrington 30,Thomas 34, and Scola 30. Battier is also still on the roster as a backup also. U could determine Scola to be a better bargain at 6m per by then and if tracy is still productive and motivated, could resign him at 9m per. The team could renounce Harrington, and Thomas and have 16m in cap room. Not only that, if Green has developed, u could move Battier draft day for additional salary. So put yourself in James shoes, would u rather play in the biggest market with guys like Yi, Danilo,Crawford, and Curry, or would u rather play with Brooks,Mcgrady,Scola and Yao in the 4th largest market? The Rox have a good shot, they just need to make sure the team is good enough and they work contracts to be in the mix. That's why I wouldn't mind taking bad contracts as long as it doesn't knock the team out the sweepstakes. Even the prospect of getting a hinrich or Williams type don't scare me. If the rox get one of those 4 yr contract guy at 8-9m still keeps them in the mix for James. If we just assume the cap will be 58 m or so, then the math still adds up. A deal involving one those guys will probably means either Rafer or Shane is gone. If u dump Rafer and Shane for williams or hinrich, when james is free, the team could still sign James, resign mcgrady at a 8 or 9m, and everything is cool.
Do you think the promise of a Chinese shoe deal could lure LeBron away from the Nets? I hope so. He's the perfect Morey player, and a good fit for Adelman's system.
Maybe we could have a chance to go after him if only Daryl Morey do not value T-MAC indispensible any more
no thanks....Lebron is a ball hogger and needs to dominate the ball. We want Yao to take all the shots.
Is it just me or I think that LeBron James will have a contract like TMac and Yao together in few years from now? He's 23, right? So like Lupe Fiasco says stop daydreamin'.
Even if it won't walk, you could still put it on the court to horrify the opponents! Anyone is afraid of the dead body!
I've been a proponent for some time of keeping cap space alive for Summer 2010, but have been cooling off to that idea lately. First, the competition may be too stiff, with the two NY teams freeing up space to make a run at him, plus Cleveland's cap space allowing them to add a star player to two to pair with a resigned LeBron. Second, the "win now" proponents may be right, given that there is no telling if Yao will be 100% healthy two years from now to be an attraction for a star free agent. With his foot problem, maybe he doesn't have any "prime" years left come 2010. So go ahead, trade for Vince Carter's big contract, or someone else - let's win now.
