Uh...I'm pretty sure he was talking about his rookie season last year, where he only played 42 games.

IR? i mean he's not going to get a lot of PT, unless he pulls a von wafer and scores like he did.

Having Brian Cook in uniform over James White is a farce and a travesty. The Rockets have the rest of the season to look at Cook before deciding the precise level of desperation they'll have in trying to dump his contract next year. They only have a finite number of days to evaluate White.

Even against a team like Memphis, which has multiple legit 7-footers, the Rockets still had Deke in uniform to help out in an emergency. Meanwhile, Cook came in at the end of the game, and rather than try to integrate himself into the Rockets' offense (using this rare and valuable opportunity to show how he can fit in the Rockets' system), Cook instead decided to throw up some garbage shots and try to get in the scoring column. THIS is why it's called "garbage time".

I hope that, after yesterday's disappointing effort by Cook, Adelman will let James White suit up and put Cook where he belongs . . . in street clothes.

agreed, but its not like they don't see white play against nba players every day in practice. a rockets scrimmage is almost better than grizzly garbage time. better talent and people are actually playing hard.

as a fan, i share your pain. i want to see what white has to offer. rest assured that they are getting a good look at him weather or not they show him to us.

I think they're watching how he plays in practice, how he fits in with the team. Then they'll likely give him another 10-day contract before signing him for the rest of the season. I heard Bullard saying they want to keep this guy because he's cheap and they don't have a draft pick next season.

While I agree that White is better evaluated in Rockets practice than during garbage time in games, there are only so many practices in a 10- to 20-day period. Also, my point is more that White should DRESS over Cook. With the new 8-man rotation that Adelman is using, the current four "non-regulars" consist of one guard (Barry) and three big men (Hayes, Deke and Cook). The team would be better served to have a guard, a swingman and two bigs availabe in case of emergency.

I dont know why guys are really soooo excited about James White. I'm sure if he was sooooo nice that guys hype him up to be he would have been on another team instead of with us on a 10 day contract which I believe is up in the next 2 days.

Its funny how guys are sooooo excited about a youtube legend. I can't complain though thats what a fan is all about. But remember this guys. We have a youtube legend on this team for about another 2 days or so. We had another legend also on this team and now he is playing in Florida. Streetball legend and Youtube legend. Hope yall get my point ;) :)

It's truly amazing how many of you know better than Morey, Adleman, and the rest of the Rockets scouting and coaching staff.

Don't you think that if they honestly thought he was worth a s***, he would get some playing time? As another poster said earlier, he's simply a warm body filling the spot opened by Luther Head. He's not going to be activated over anyone else.

The guy won't even get much practice time until who knows when. For someone who hasn't been in the league awhile, and considering how crucial every win is now, especially after we dropped about 11 games we should have won (Chicago, NY, Philly, Philly, Indy, Indy, Milwaukee, Dallas, San Antonio, Memphis, Memphis)....it might be awhile before this guy gets on the floor.
