True, but both that team and the current one end up without a chip.

Giannis will win and that's fine. Well deserved. Harden is a little better though.

I thought the Bucks were good enough to win it this year but their lack of half court offense execution and mental lapses doomed them. Giannis will eek out the MVP though.

What's the point of a regular season award?

I'd take being in the lotto again. Did you see the odds this year and how it played out? You have a better chance at getting a top 3 pick now than ever before. Give me guys that try hard and equal odds to jump to the 1-3 spot.

Harden had a great season but it will and should be Giannis. Him making both All-NBA first team All-Defensive first team isn't a fluke. He shyt the bed against Toronto but once he finds out how to shoot, he will be even better. He's only 24. Playoff MVP goes to Kawhi.

People act like they will to start over again but that is crap
Trade everyone and get a #1 pick
Then HOPE that in 8 yrs they will win a chip
If not . .. . Rinse and repeat
Rockets have not even been a consistent second round team until a few years ago . . . . .
    there was a long drought

What's the point of playing the regular season at all? Let's just skip to the postseason.

People covet those top 5 picks in hope that they get a player even close to Harden. LeBron/AD were the only surefire #1 picks in the last 20 years. For every one of those, u got bout 9 years of a crapshoot that your guy may or may not work out.

In fact, just look at Philly and "the Process Era". Started back in 2013, same time that we got James Harden. What have they gotten to show for it over all these years. Embiid, Fultz, Simmons and 2x 2nd Rd Exits after missing the playoffs completely for 5 straight years.

Beginning to feel like to win the MVP you have to play basketball that can’t win chips.

Harden didn't throw a 2-0 lead against the Raptors.

They do. Then the League sucks all the energy out of it by plopping the actual announcement at a stupid awards ceremony after the playoffs.

    By regular season standards:
    Should: Harden
    Will: Giannis

Should: Get rid of the stupid award. An award that can mean anything means nothing.

You know very well that if Harden had 5 games less with 40-50 pt performances, we would have won exactly 48 games....not far above your 46 games.

Harden won 20-30 games by himself or even more.
