Mike Jones? Isn't he related to Wade Jones who just won Finals MVP for the Miami Heat?;)

even with gay and swift we still had the MLE to get Mike James with so we could afford him

hey if gay takes their minutes then thats a good thing because that means he's been playing good.. isn't that what many people are worried about? gay not being able to contribute?

isn't gay pretty flexible as well?.. he's fast enough to keep up with sgs and long enough to keep up with pfs (perimeter type pfs)..

Some of you obviously didn't watch Mike in Toronto. Very underrated defender. Forget what he did 2 years ago. He was a decent defender here in Houston. But last year, he showed why he's a top 5 defensive guard in the game. Watch him next year. He will do a good job on the likes of Wade and AI and Arenas.

He didn't guard Kobe. He said had he guarded Kobe that game Kobe wouldn't have even broken 30.

Speaking of which, if Sura is out all season and this a career ending injury does it help the rockets financially?

    in another thread you said

"Mike James is a top 10 defensive player in this...

Mike James is a top 10 defensive player in this league. He said he could have easily held Kobe to 40 in his 81 point game. He said his goal is to win mvp, the championship, and Defensive 1st Team for..."

so is it 40 or less then 30?

I don't remember the exact number, 40 or 30, but either way, that's still a heck of a job, to hold someone 50% less than they scored. I'm pretty sure he said 30; I just put in the 40 to make it more realistic had he guarded him.

I am not sure which is worse. Whether you agree that the trade was a good trade or that you think it helps by not taking minutes from this cast of characters

All I'm saying is Gay is a question mark. Battier is a sure thing. He makes the team better. We're going all the way next year. We have a much better shot with Battier than with Gay and Swift.

Further, I doubt Tracy McGrady will spend a whole lot of time at shooting guard. I expect most of his time to be spent the same place he was last season - small forward.

That makes the list more like James, Head & Alston.
