Do you think that the media discovering that Harden cooks crack will impact his MVP chances?

    :p

Not mad just not impressed with it. Like most of clutchfans, I'm a Harden fan. Love his game and love what he's doing this year. His celebration? Not too impressed.

And that's what I said in my first post. "Most people say he's cooking." But I also said that Harden talks about "Harden Island." And AKRocketsFan chimed in to say the same thing.

I'm not saying "Harden Island" is correct. I only posted it as a question.

One thing I now...Harden does not do this on all his shots. He only does it when he ISO'd someone on "Harden Island."

I will defer to your urbanization of the NBA knowledge.

My problem is I think "I'm cooking now" is silly. I like the idea that he has put you on "Harden Island" better.

It's derived from Jontro's fap celebration.

No matter the origin, Harden is redefining that gesture to remove crack references.

It must have initially meant Harden's cooking up his basketball moves. That's what his friend GHowell said.

Harden sanitized it for the ABC TV audience by saying it also means he's got his man on an island.

Was the "island" thing ever referenced outside of Mike Tirico's quote? Because when he tried to explain it, he sounded ridiculous.

It's pretty annoying every time I see him do it.. seems like hes getting too cocky.. not good.

I love it. Always thought it was to say "I'm cooking now." Whatever, I think it's pretty damn fun and gets the fans excited.

The fear with something like this is if we run into a heartbreaking situation again like the Lillard shot, that he turns around and starts doing it himself to make us feel extra ****ty.

I make no claim to know any better than anyone else in this thread, but to me the "cooking" thing makes sense and I love it. The "island" thing doesn't make much sense with the gesture and seems less catchy as a marketing thing.
