Boooooo! All I want is KD/Simmons vs Embiid/Harden on 3/10 And 76ers vs Nets in the playoffs! With the winner facing the Bucks. Giannis vs either Embiid or KD will be epic. Don't kill the dream!.
LbJ teams were actually Big Fours? They underperformed in that case. That means that chemistry means a whole lot. Lends to the argument that Harden sucks as far as winning championships are concerned, because ball hog and can't be trusted to have costars' backs. Then again Morey started an argument that Harden was better shooting guard offensively than Jordan - so to Morey, he probably thinks he has big three now. Can't wait to see.
Intriguing thing is .. . Everyone of them is a big man NBA does not lend itself to wings being one man teams --- So the NBA kind of Favors the Big Man - Other than Hakeem which they made rules to prevent him from being dominant Rocket River
You're taking what I'm saying far too literally. I'm just bringing up the fact that that poster talked down to another poster about not knowing their history while conveniently leaving out championship teams that have 2 or more superstars, that were mainstays in the Finals picture. I'm not sure why you're bringing chemistry into this or somehow funneling everything into a "Harden's a ballhog so he sucks" POV. But you do you.
I thought it was a logical conclusion to draw from what you've said. Perhaps I made a mistake somewhere along the line. No need to be so dismissive though - it's not like I attacked you somehow. Edit: And if you count the championships in your reply they are pretty equal tallies between the two types of teams btw, so my question with regards to Bulls was very pertinent to your argument. You should thank me instead of the whole "you do you" attitude
Agree and while we're avoiding talking directly about Harden's 76er's, their last title (I think) happened only when they got Moses to join Dr. J. The analysis gets much more lopsided when you go further into NBA history: Magic and Kareen, Bird and McHale (and many others), and then the most dominant in any era, Bill Russell plus multiple HOF players like Cousy, Sam Jones, on and on.
No updates cause there probably isn't any real news to talk about. Once games start again, that will pick up I am sure.
Well apparently harden has had the best selling Phila jersey the nba in the last few weeks. Interesting
The dude said teams with 1 superstar never win a ring, I never said its the most successful path. If you're gonna jump in a convo why dont you get the full context first? You are creating some sort of strawman argument nobody made in the first place. When Hakeem and Drexler teemed up Drexler was no longer a superstar or even a star, didnt he retire the year after or something? Thats just name recall. If a dude is gonna retire the next year that means he is done cmon man gimme a break. In a vacuum yes pairing superstars with other superstars is better but it depends on which star is getting paired up with whom. Some stars like Lebron, KD, Steph Curry those guys can play with anybody. With Harden he clearly needs the ball to be effective and he is prone to blackhole/inefficient scoring bouts. In a situation where Embiid is better at doing what Harden is doing I dunno if they are gonna be the best fit. Lets see what happens.
how is embiid better at facilitating than harden ? harden is like lebron. lebron's teams are always better when they are playing "bron ball". because he is elite at scoring and playmaking. bron ball doesn't mean others will not get the ball and will not get their touches. did AD not get his touches after teaming up with lebron ? what the hell makes you or anyone else think embiid can't or won't get his playing with harden ? playing with a great scorer who can command a double team, that is also a great playmaker means he will be able to get easier baskets. the sixers are not a "stacked" team. they have two stars and a good mix of above average and specialists that give them the proper balance and easy to define roles IMO. they should figure it out much quicker than brooklyn. it still confuses me why everyone is so sure that collection of players will easily click and figure it out. some of the personalities may clash as well.
With the vaccine mandates getting lifted, James has placed a big bet on himself. Winning one in Philly and beating Brooklyn in the process could change the entire narrative of his career.
