gotta get used to players' choice awards superteams now. it's just part of today's nba. i dunno if the league can fix it in the next cba, but i think the bigger problem is players can sulk and hurt the team if he wants to get traded. this is becoming soccer, where contracts won't mean much and any star player can just force their way out at any given time

How to prevent superteams. Eliminate max contracts. Let Lebron, Durant, and Harden get paid 70 million a year. No money for anyone else on the team.

I agree but Blake and LA match up worse and offer less rim protection.

People were saying they needed bigs was because of defense and rebounding, Blake and LMA adds none of that a Blake is not even considered an actual big he plays like more of a 3 these days.

    In regular season sure.

In playoffs nah. Playoffs are where rooks struggle thats why you signed guys like Griffin and LMA.
Just watch Capela regular season vs playoff split you will know what I mean.

I dont wanna watch Minny-KG like teams composed of 1 good player and 14 scrubs.

Thats not gonna help parity in the NBA I can see that just intensifying super teams as players desperate to win rings take discounts while others in there for the money get paid the entire cap. Like Lebron can say you know what I made so much and winning rings is more important lemme take 30 and AD can take 70. Meanwhile Giannis takes like 90M by himself to stay in Milwaukee. Remember KD took a discount to win a ring while Cp3 got as big a bag as he could from the Rox winning be damned. I mean thats what Duncan did thats why Spurs could afford tony parker and manu meanwhile KG rolling with Wally Sczerbiak and a clown crew.

If there is no money then all the good non star players will go to the superteams since there is no money they might as well play for a ring. You will have an MJ situation where the glamor teams have great supporting cast and their opponents have scrub teammates. Like for example Marcus Smart is a free agent but nobody can pay him more than 3M cuz nobody has any money. Then he will just go to the Lakers cuz the salary is the same at least he can play in a great city and win a ring. Meanwhile Milwaukee who paid all its cap to make Giannis stay only has 3M left and will get Danuel House to play alongside Giannis. So yeah I fail to see how this move does any good in the NBA we already had uncapped salaries before it did jackshit regarding NBA parity. This whole buyout thing happening is also what will happen teams are capped out but these buyouts go to enhance the super teams since they get paid the vet min anywhere they go.

Besides it wont pass NBA players wont allow top 1% to make 80% of the entire salary pool.

Capela had great playoffs the only team he struggled against was GS and his splits are not that terrible.

What do you think Griffin and LMA offer defensively?

Defense wont matter when you are so over powered offensively.

LA signing with the nets doesn’t even really matter much. The nets were winning without him anyway. He just wants to come along for the ride

Defense always matters in the playoffs.

    Does 0-27 ring a bell?

And LMA and Blake are not offensive dynamos at this point like another poster said they have better offensive weapons already on the team.

These superteams are just the culmination of rings culture spread by media idiots like shaq and chuck and the clickbait talk shows

They are big bodies that they can throw at AD and Lebron that can shoot well enough that AD can't sag to help at the rim.

    Wait wut?

They would get shredded on AD and Lebron, there is no way the Nets are planning on matching those guys against AD and Lebron.

They are both gonna be used at the 5 position for the most part.

They would love for LA and Blake to take shots at the 3 line before those other guys.

Need big strong bodies to soak up some hard fouls on Embiid/Giannis/AD too. Also LMA can force Embiid to play defense; don't let him rest on that end. Don't let them rest for a single possession. Drown them with depth.

Will you stop those guys? No, they will get theirs. But you can make them work for it.

How do you lean a big body on somebody who plays the majority of the time on the perimeter?

If you are getting torched in the beginning of the game it will not matter if they are worn down.

When have you ever seen LA and Blake putting a body on somebody defensively?

Since when is LMA a big body?

So now you are gonna run your offense through LMA to force Embid to play defense, So pass up more efficient players and shots?

You already have Green and Durant that can do that at a much higher level.

How does it make sense to take the shots away from the Big 3 to have 2 more inefficient player take them?

Embid is not working to get shots over LMA and Blake.

If we had CP3 we would have won. So we would have overpowered them offensively -- that being said our defense was also amazing that year. That was a top 5 team all time across the entire league history.
