He couldn’t demand to go ANYWHERE. Some teams had literally nothing to trade. And he still had multiple years on his deal. I think there was a real reason Brooklyn and Philly were the two leaders. Best available destinations with things to actually trade.

harden would have averaged at least 3 more assists a game for the season simply if Tucker could convert layups.

He could've demanded to go anywhere, and if he were firm about it, it would've happened. It would've only been a matter of when it happened.

KD signed with BKN = became alpha. Irving signed 7 days later to join KD.
Lebron joined aging Wade, Bosh signed to join Lebron. Alpha-enough.
Kawhi requested trade ending up in Toronto and winning a championship = alpha

How? How does he force his way to either LA team or Milwaukee if Brooklyn’s and Philly’s offers are on the table? They had already traded away everything that could even remotely help them compete with the better offers.

Ans it’s not like Brooklyn was 1 of 1 on his preferred destinations.

Would Brooklyn/Philly have offered as much if Harden would re-sign only with Milwaukee?

Alpha my ass, he's been out playing "The alpha" since he got there, miss me with the Bullshit. KD will never be an "alpha" since he went to GS.

It's effectively the same... In fact with this dumb logic... Some could argue it's worse as the "alpha" in need of another superstar joining them because they can't get it done as constituted.

This whole Alpha thing is BS.

MJ never got out of the 2nd round until Pippen and Rodman arrived is he Alpha or not? Kobe first ran Shaq out of town and then cried and complained till Gasol arrived is he alpha or not?

Why is it if the GM gets you help you can be an Alpha but if you get help yourself you can't be one? Lol it's the same thing help is help doesnt matter how you got it. Whether you got your millions via inheritance or via lottery guess what you are still a millionaire.

Being Alpha is a sign of ownership and leadership rather than what your teammates are. You can have 5 superstars on the squad but if they see you as the leader then guess what you the Alpha.

Revisionist history in real time... LOL... Wtf is this garbage.

KD joined the former champion Warriors after literally blowing a 3-1 lead the year prior.
LeBron "quit" with the Cavs and did a superstar teamup in Miami.... Joining Wade's team who was already a champion before LeBron.
Kawhi didn't want to go to Toronto and was the most fortunate of all time to have Klay effectively miss two games in tearing his ACL and KD basically miss the whole series after tearing his Achilles and it STILL TOOK 6 games for the Raps to beat the Warriors.

No this makes sense. When Lebron went to join Wade, Wade was the alpha. When he left to join Kyrie in Cleveland, Kyrie was the alpha. Lebron didn’t become the alpha until he went to the Lakers and AD joined him. When KD joined the GSW, Curry was the alpha and KD couldn’t be the alpha until now in BKN. Although Kyrie was the alpha in Cleveland with Lebron being the beta, Kyrie’s “alphaness” is now demoted back down to “betaness” because KD has finally been promoted to the role of alpha.

Harden is Chris Bosh, Kevin Love, Klay Thompson level now. Go stand in the corner like PJ Tucker and wait for your catch and shoot 3 pointers generated by KD and Kyrie and play defense fat boy.

Lol at this alpha bs. Harden has been alpha for like 8 years, Dwight, CP, WB all took turns willingly to be his beta.

Actually by this Logic Jeremy Lin is the most Alpha, Harden left OKC to play with Jerry Lim

Kawhi waited for the PG trade first

Agree that KD joined the GSW did not make him alpha. Taking the plunge going to BKN is a sign of growth.
Willing to agree with you on Lebron and Miami. But Miami was not a pre-built success at that point.
Kawhi was willing to force his way out of San Antonio to go somewhere else...this is what we are talking about in terms of "alpha", no? Not to run somewhere where things are pre-built and ready for a championship?

Agree that Harden was alpha for like 8 years. But his going to BKN was not an alpha move.

Lin would be the most alpha if he didn't cry so much.

I don’t think Brooklyn made the trade they made with the idea that re-signing Harden after his current deal is a certainty.

Certainty? No. But would they be the most likely to re-sign him? Yes.
