But what about record ??? I mean.... THAT's Giannis' MAIN argument, right ??? THIS is each players' TEAM RECORD during each respective season. '19 Rockets -- .635 '62 Sixers -- .613 '06 Lakers -- .549 So... going by RECORD... Harden is not only *closer* to Wilt than Kobe, he's BETTER than Wilt. How could you ignore the something so OBVIOUS after defending it so long/adenmently ?!!!
This really blows a big hole in the "but but free throws!!" schtick. The defense schtick is already fading, hopefully that one is next. Mindless lemmings posting that on every social media post... #takethatfordata
Because he is full of BS, always looking to diminish Harden under guise of "historical accuracy" and being realistic. Smh
Harden's record even better than Jordan's record when he averaged 37 pts. Only had 40 total wins vs. Harden's 50 plus.
Put Harden on that 2008 lakers squad with a prime gasol and odom and he'd have them 3 peating. Kobe's clutch narrative is just to generate interest in super stars. He wasn't a choker but certainly never carried a team like Harden has this year to a record that Houston has. Bear in mind the competition was less stiff when kobe was competing as most teams didn't have more than 2 stars. Harden's 2018 campaign is so much better than anything kobe has done in his career, though people don't want to admit it. Kobe got that selfish ******* mentality though so that certainly helped the fuel the perception he was better than everyone else. Something about our society that makes us both fear and revere sociopaths in sports.
Yeah, Kobe's clutch ability is overstated. His career stats are terrible in elimination games and that includes '09 vs the Rockets. It's arguable Gasol deserved 2010 FMVP over him.
@durvasa can you share the formula you used in 2017 to convince yourself and others that harden was only 3rd in mvp rankings?
Hol up, was he really saying that back in 2017? Please don’t tell me this dude was saying Harden should be 3rd back then. U got the receipts?
yes I remember he made up some formula with WB and Kawhi ahead of Harden I can try find it lets see what he says
Well, because that's not the basis of the comparison @D-rock was going by: He is talking about Harden's individual dominance this season as a scorer and how it will be remembered. On that basis, what Harden is doing compares more closely to Kobe than Wilt. Both in the way he scores and the frequency of his scoring relative to other players. That's all I'm saying. This isn't a dig in any way against Harden, so its weird that people are fighting it. I'm not even saying that Harden's season isn't superior to Kobe's. I'm just saying that his season is more similar to Kobe's than Wilt's in terms of how "legendary" it will be viewed as. Wilt is in a separate category because the league was just so different back then that all the stats are skewed. It was like a different sport.
MVP-wise, 2019 Harden has best argument for the best season of them all. Better than Giannis too if people are honest.
Do the Bucks even have Clutch Time? They have a net rating of like +10. Have they even HAD any close games? Maybe the only one is that 76er game that they lost. And I think this is interesting moving forward. How they DO handle close games without having too many of them.
That's why I don't think they'll do well in the playoffs. I honestly can't see them blowing many teams out.
