i suppose we inflate him until he falls short of our expectations, then we roast him. i'm thankful, harden is cool headed and will be fine. and, i do think harden is most excellent. most excellent.
I think once the memories of Harden and OKC wear off, then maybe, but that will take at least a season. I want it to happen, don't get me wrong, but he's still just getting started.
Too early. Harden has to pass sf3 first then there was tmac as a rocket. Not a knock on harden but he only played 30 games for us
To early to tell about a legend but I think he is the best player we have had since Dream not Yao and Tmac.
If he doesn't get hurt or traded, Harden will easily be the 2nd best player in Rockets history. At least based on all their play as Rockets and not entire careers. But I thought that about T-Mac too.
Thoughts? This quote mirrors my own thoughts about the topic. Come on, man. I thought you were smarter than this. At least a tad more reserved. Ever heard of some other Rockets players besides Hakeem? Like Elvin Hayes? Moses Malone? Calvin Murphy? And I could go on. How about we give James a chance to have a career as a Rocket for at least a couple of seasons before putting him in the company of other greats that have played for Houston.
I say he ends up as the 3rd best player in rockets history. This is how it is from my perspective 1) Dream 2) Clyde 3) Harden 4) Yao 5) Moses Malone 6) Elvin Hayes 7) T-Mac 8) Franchise
Top Rocket shooting guards ever..... 1. Clyde Drexler 2. Tracy Mcgrady 3. Vernon Maxwell 4. Mario Elie 5. Cuttino Mobley 6. Rodney Mcray 7. Kevin Martin 8. Sleepy Floyd 9. Eddie Johnson 10. Sam Mack
1. This thread has nothing to do with Lin. 2. You, however, are cementing your legend as one of the worst posters in the GARM.
Moses had 3 league mvps when kareem, magic and bird were playing and you have him 5 on a rockets list. SMH
Easily is a bit of an overstatement. I consider Moses to be the obvious 2nd best Rocket. He's basically had 6 seasons of all-star play to superstar level play. And 1 finals appearance. If Harden is healthy, I can see him having ~6-7 such seasons, and then 3-5 seasons of slow decline. Hence, passing Moses on the list. The other players I can't even begin to consider. T-Mac and Yao has peak performance but not the length. Murphy, Rudy T have length but not peak. Hayes was a homeless man version of Moses.
I assume you are only talking about Moses' time as a rocket since he was an all-star 12 times and was first or second team all-nba 7 times.
Wow, Sam Mack cracks the top 10? That's a big drop off between 9 and 10. I'm thinking Mike Newlin or even Michael Dickerson could get some consideration here.
