He is playing chess, not checkers. He really wants to stay in Houston, so he is tanking his trade value. So smart, this guy.

That's one use for it, but the original use was to describe the type of middle aged woman who would demand to see the manager believing that she needed to be overly catered to when at basically any business. Basically the type of person who thinks that they have the right to demand everyone do as they wish. With the COVID situation, the Karen problem has REALLY gotten out of hand. The defining characteristic of the Karen is a false sense of entitlement to control the lives of others.

You are scared about the idea of people being out at bars or restaurants....fine, don't go to them. You don't demand that others adopt your lifestyle.

Not sure if you jest, but the thought did cross my mind. If he’s having second thoughts about getting flipped, this would definitely serve him well.

    @J.R.

haha everyone’s acting surprised. He does this daily. I can literally tell you where he will be every night for the rest of the year by just guessing.

This is a restaurant in Houston called Turkey Leg Hut. I’m not a fan of his constant partying but this is certainly not partying. A lot of Rocket players eat at this place.

    Harden:
    • Has already had COVID
    • Is asymptomatic
    • Is young and healthy
Based on the ACTUAL SCIENCE and DATA, Harden is at virtually ZERO risk of being negatively impacted by COVID or transmitting COVID. Some of you need to update your thinking and stop playing along with this Karen-culture mask shaming nonsense. There's a statistical greater chance of him dying from choking on food than from COVID.

Leave this guy alone and let him live his life!

James Harden has never cared about anybody but James Harden...

The sooner people realize that they have had the wool pulled over their eyes and he is nothing but a self absorbed narcissistic diva the better...

Idc what he has accomplished as a Rocket - bc he has reached the point of being a larger negative than a positive! Mortgaged our future to get him WB... and now he wants out and is hurting his trade value to drive down our return - fk this dude...

Anybody that still has aspirations of mending this relationship and keeping Harden in the fold is either delusional or a fool - or both!

Fool's gold... always has been - always will be!

I'm pretty sure he had it before the playoffs so he thinks he has immunity. Bad example but doubt it is risky.

    - After having Covid you can become re-infected... when did he have it 4-6 months ago?
    - There are protocols that should be followed as a responsible member of society...
    - The man is making uber millions a year and could jeopardize playing time by becoming re-infected - or at least miss time due to breaking protocols...
    - He is a high visibility public personalty who should be presenting a more safe example...

Its this kind of excusing, rationalizing and enabling that brought us to our current situation...

Can the Rockets be punished by the nba like losing picks or fined if the league decideds this is a breach of the Covid act that they just forced teams to sign?

    https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...s-protocol-violations-lead-coronavirus-spread

“At home, players and staff are forbidden to enter bars, lounges or clubs, attend live entertainment or game venues, or visit public gyms, spas, pool areas or large indoor social gatherings that exceed 15 people, the memo said.

Violations will include possible disciplinary action by teams or the league, including warnings, educational sessions, fines and suspensions.

What's more, teams could be punished for failing to comply and for failing to report any "potential or actual violation, and/or any discipline imposed by the team for such violation." If teams are found to repeatedly violate the protocols, they could be subject to "enhanced discipline."”

It's allowed more places than it's not allowed. Most of the country hasn't fully embraced authoritarian BS out of fear of a virus that the vast majority of the public have nothing at all to fear from.

If it’s at a outdoor restaurant, he was following the rules. Still may be irresponsible or whatever but wasn’t breaking Harris County rules.
Might have been breaking NBA policy though.

Looks like the Rockets found a 3rd team

    Harden to Philly
    Simmons to SA
Midrange specialists DeRozan and Gay to Houston
