Even on the court you could tell that harden is most comfortable with giving Beasley the ball to do something than anyone else on the team. Except for his alleys to Dwight of course

Beasley always reminded me of ZBo. Underrated, pushed from team to team, until he was let to play the way he knows how to play.

During the break or soon after, it seems, Morey signs someone no one expected him to sign, and the player turns out to be a hell of a bargain. We have Beasley on a tremendous value contract for next season, and if he's consistently good (we'll have to wait and see), Daryl will lock him up long term at some point. We should have the ability to do so with the cap going up so much. This summer will be exciting. Weird how the off-season can generate so much interest for ardent fans here. It certainly does for me, and it usually turns out to be more exciting than I expected at the end of the season.

Here is the full quote from Harden.

"He's Everywhere............. I even saw him at V-Live and Dreams on the same night. We popped bottles with strippers."

Not total desperation but an experiment.

Morey got himself a slew of experiments throughout the years.

Rarely did those work but if that worked, it would be a gem for sure.

Still think he isn't really effective as he thought he would be.

He actually cuts to the rim. Wow. Beasley is Parsons true replacement when it is all said and done. A 3/4 combo.

Nah, Parsons was a great ball handler, playmaker and floor spacer.

And expensive. And ego-driven, wanting to become a big, marketable star....for which I don't completely blame him, but the dude went douche on us. We have his replacement. We can spend our money elsewhere in the summer.

Beasley has anxiety for which he smoked weed for but I think since getting suspended for it he's gotten it under control. Maybe he's in therapy or on prescription or has a medical card but I think people's impression him having a drug problem is way over blown. Weed wasn't his problem, anxiety was and that looks to be under control.

And even then, Ariza is doing "Parson-like youthful athletic things" Stealing the ball and driving to the rim on fast breaks. Would you rather have Parson's contract or the Ariza/Beasley combo for way less?

Beasley is playing hard, now.. namely playing defense. Not something he's been known for in the past. We'll see how long his fire lasts once gets a real contract.

He's playing well though.. versatile scorer, good size, skill-set, no "hacka" potential. If his mind is right, he can be 3rd best player on a champion.

Enjoying Beasley's overall game. Did not like when Ballard said that Beasley should work on shooting more 3s , I rather have Beasley take shots that get you points no matter if it's not a 3.

You're assuming he wanted to come here earlier? Has he said this?

Morey also specifically said their intel on Beasley improved while he played in China because of their connections there.

Why would Morey give up on TJ and Dmo early? Bringing in Beasley or any other PF cuts into their PT and development. They needed to play to determine their value and also raise their stock for trades.

The situation here may be desperate, but that doesnt mean signing Beasley was an act of desperation. It wasnt irritiational or a rash decision. Low risk high reward makes it rational and waiting for good intel means it wasnt rash...

Better intel how? The guy played here in the States... wasn't our head coach on staff when Beasley played there?

Said player goes to the other side of the planet and Rockets get better intel?
Doubt the "waiting on better intel" we got lucky without the injuries to T.Jones/Dmo we never get Beasley.

JB was there about 4 yrs ago. You're not likely to bring in a player based on what you saw 4 yrs ago, unless we're talking about a project with potential...especially a guy like Beasley, who had off court issues. Based on what he saw back then, JB probably wouldn't have wanted him here. Morey said certain Rockets wanted Beasely two years ago, but he didn't have the intel on him that he has now.

Did you not understand the part about having connections in China?? We all know this, especially with Yao there now. It's not hard to understand why they'd get good info from "the other side of the planet". It likely was as simple as, Beasley had turned a corner this past year and was more mature and finally ready to function in the NBA. Beasely said this himself, but obviously it's good to get confirmation from those around him daily.
