1st team NBA: Harden, Howard (yea, he's 1st), Bev --- woooo, loaded. Yet 1st round exit :(

Is this saying individual talents doesn't mean much if they don't play well together?

Or, our coach really really horrible?

Our pieces don't fit well together?

I'm going to do the popular thing --- McHale sux!

Wade was hobbled by injury, Kobe out , curry bad ankles, lance Stephenson actually had a better season than harden on both ends of the floor but overshadowed by PG

my god the Harden hate is beginning to rival the Franchise disdain.

At least with Franchise it was well founded.

    @carlherrera

I'll tip jar bet you $50.00 that Harden & the Rockets make it further than Love and whatever team he is on next year in the playoffs

I'll cover your end when I win if you can stop posting stupid threads, Harden hate and Patterson love during that time frame.

Wade hasn't made 1st Team All-NBA in the past 4 years, including this year.

Kobe being out still doesn't justify Lowe's remarks because, what, Kobe gets an automatic 1st All-NBA team recognition just because he's Kobe?

Lance Stephenson had a better season on BOTH ends of the floor??? I'd like to see the advanced statistical analysis on that.

    2013: The Clippers
    2009: The Spurs

What other parameters are we going to use now? I didn't realize making the All-NBA team was a TEAM thing. Sure Harden shrank again in the playoffs but his regular season numbers got him the recognition. 1st Round exit of a team that was in their 1st year together? With a horrible coach who don't know how to coach? With a few role players that ALSO shrank at times in the playoffs?

The only thing worth complaining about is that Howard should have had more 1st place votes than what he had gotten (9 I believe).

But but but Harden sucks and is overrated and needs to be traded and Paul George is better and we will never win with James Harden.

    Suck it haters.

Well done Harden. Now elevate that D from putrid level to an average level.

On another note we have all NBA 1st team, all NBA 2nd team, all NBA 2nd defensive team and yet get booted out. Why? Incompetent, lousy, clueless lsoer coach McHale who is an embarassment to the Rockets.

This is the second time that Paul George has made an All-NBA team and the max contract that he signed last season hasn't gone into effect yet so he's subject to the "Rose Provision" which will escalate the cost of his new contract.

The Rose Provision is new to this CBA and allows young players who meet a certain criteria to receive a higher maximum contract value on their 2nd contracts.

Normally the max salary for a player coming off of a rookie deal would be in the $13M range. The Rose Provision, however, allows the player to be signed for 30% of the current salary cap if they have accomplished any of the following:

-- Named to the All-NBA first, second or third team two times.

-- Voted an All-Star starter two times.

-- Named regular-season MVP one time.

At the time of it's signing, Paul George's contact was a 5 year $80+ million dollar deal. It's the same deal that Harden signed with the Rockets.

Now that George has met the requirements for the Rose Provision his new deal (which starts next season) increases in value to a 5 year $97M contract.

Good day for Paul George...bad day for the Pacers salary cap.

NOTE: George's contract contains an agreement to limit his max salary to 27% of the team cap rather than the normal 30%.
