Looks like other contenders have more help than Harden. But look at these graphs carefully to see how effective Harden really has been comparatively.
Durant as greatest scorer of modern era may be a tad exaggerated. And where is Steph and Dame on this list?
If harden wants this bad enough houston can win the chip. But its gonna be up to westbrook to manage this injury. If he can come back healthy without having to play maybe 1 or 2 games in the series it will be ok. But houston will have to come together as a team. This means Rivers,Eric Gordon, and Tucker will have to play the best ball they have played in awhile. House and Ben will have to take good open 3pt shots. Dont force shots, create shots, and get back on D. James is your guy, but he cant do this alone, It takes a team to win.
I've always felt like, on paper, KD should be far more prolific of a scorer. Pundits and casuals sure love to throw his name around when discussing the GOAT scorer, as well. I really don't think Harden will get his recognition until he gets a chip...Or maybe not even then, sadly.
The Sixers are a "good" team but they're no better than the Rockets' first round opponent the last few years, and they encountered them in the 2nd round. The Bucks was a nice victory I'll grant you that, but he still went up against just 1 future HOF player, not 3.
This is interesting. Looking forward to seeing how he performs in postseason after all the rest and getting into skinny Harden mode.
I'm not worried about Harden, he will bring his game. This will reflect more on D'Antoni, poor decisions, inability to adapt quickly, leaving cold shooters and not expanding the rotation when warranted. We don't have the personnel to shoot consistently and efficiently from the 3 while being out rebounded by at least 10 boards. A young center like Hartenstein, who can shoot the 3 and hustles would have been phenomenal for this series.
But Harty can't switch everything, he would have been torched by CP3. And Harty was a 26% 3P in G League and 0% 3P in NBA this season. Harty just did not have confidence to shoot 3's with Rockets.
Yep. And Harty was actually better from 3 in G League last season. Shooting 33%. So he has the potential to be a good 3ball shooter, but not sure about the confidence. But never going to be a switch everything defender unfortunately.
