I like your explanation of what Karma means to you, but I don't think that's what the true definition of Karma is.

Please explain. You are at least the third person who has said Karma is completely different from being superstitious.

Karma as an external force of nature has no logic behind it.

Ive heard people say KDs injury was "karma" for leaving okc as if some external force of nature put KD in harms way because it dissaproved of him leaving OKC.

I mean if karma exists than why dont serial killers get struck by lightning?

There is no external force judging human morality and governing cause and effect relationships between bad deeds and negative consequences. That is just asinine.

Only humans can judge human morality and govern relationships between bad deeds and negative consequences with things like prison or social disapproval

    Lol Atheists or agnostic, much?

Karma doesnt necessarily mean instant justice. Theres no statute of limitations to this. Maybe next life cycle you'll come back as a cow destined for the slaughter house and not even know it, or maybe a rapist will come back as women only to expirience the same fate he forced on someone else or maybe he'll get his this cycle all the same walking down the street and gets hit by a car.

Karma and superstition are two different things. You dont have to be superstitious to believe in karma its asisnine to think you do,nor asisnine to believe there is no grand architect.

No, man, women or child has a right to judge anybody period. We can set parameters of prevention but humans will do what they want.(its called free will) We have laws against killing other humans but people do it around the counrty daily. How is that human governing working out.

People saying KD injury was Karma are just saying the first thing that comes to mind. It would have been karma had he got injured in preseason and never got to suit up this year at all. This is just a stupid injury, with people looking for reasoning thats not even there. They are personally superstitious so they try to find a correlation, there is none. If Im superstitious I avoid, walking under ladders, or avoid spliting poles, or coming across a black cat. All of it is stupid really if you ask me. Has nothing to do with karma. In fact you could say KD going to GSW is karma for OKC being cheap and trading Harden and breaking up the big three. They really thought they was keeping Durant didnt they?

    Hope this helps.

Karma is sort of like "media conspiracy". While some may claim it to exist, nobody can really prove beyond a shadow of doubt that it actually does exist.

I like my definition of karma the best even if it doesn't coincide with the popular definition. That is, you get what you give in life and you will only be as happy as what you allow yourself to be. What is morally right or wrong differs from person to person and is thus, subjective.

I think Ramo$e took it to another level with his reincarnation theory of karma, which is a cool and interesting take but it also cannot be proven one way or the other as a fact any more than god existing or the spaghetti monster flying in the sky.

I can only make conclusions based on the world I currently live in and there is no evidence that would lead me to believe that some "outside" presence is constantly interfering with our day to day lives based on our independent views of morality.

Impossible to prove and impossible to disprove.

I can say there is such a thing as a flying spaghetti monster. I cant prove it and you cant disprove it

It may be Impossible to prove the conceptual view of "karma" but isnt "karma" essentially Newtons third law? For every action there is an equal reaction. I mean if you want to get really deep how can you prove anything really exists? Prove a "Car" exists? Take the wheels off the car, where is the car? Take the engine, the windshield, the doors, the body etc, out the car, where is the "car"? Prove that "You" exist? Take the blood out of your body, take the heat out of your body, take the air out of your lungs, take the bones out, etc. Where are "you" now? ("you" in this case as a human being). You see a "car" but isn't a "car" really just nuts and bolts made of iron and steel mined from the earth? You see "you" but arent you(a human) just an intricate combination of minerals from the earth, cells, atoms etc. Okay, maybe Newtons Third Law restricts itself to immediate, not future, consequences. As well, the Third Law deals with the physical, not metaphysical, world. But this is why humans have two halves of a brain. People lean too much on either side of their brain, whether its too much too the left brain or too much to the right. Maybe we have to start thinking more along the lines of a balanced Middle way? Then things will start to make more sense!

That being said, I agree with you. We cant prove or disprove that "karma" is real or that it exists. But, even the conceptual view of Karma makes more sense than thinking everything that happens is by chance or an accident.

Not all assholes come out on top. Karl Malone never won a ring and Hitler blew his brains out in a bunker while his beloved Germany was being overrun and subjugated by the Russian "untermensch".
