With the way LAC finished the season, I wonder if CP3 would consider another team...

    Are even a Rockets fan?

"The Rockets went into the draft hoping to land either Washington's Brandon Roy or Villanova's Randy Foye with the eighth pick. But after both players were selected, the Rockets began seeking trade offers. Gay didn't fit with the Rockets because the team was seeking a player who would have an immediate impact.

Rockets general manager Carroll Dawson said Memphis called offering Battier and the deal was too good to pass up."

What was wrong with trading a 32-year old Shane Battier to Memphis for a 1st round pick? And what's the point in keeping Shane Battier and his salary with T-Mac and Yao gone?

Jeff Van Gundy has said on record that it was totally a trade made by Morey. So you are calling Jeff Van Gundy a liar if you dispute that.

He is definitely not one right now. He showed signs he could become such a player. You have to remember that in prior seasons he always preferred to be second banana, and then all of sudden he is the centerpiece of team.

However, honestly the Rockets only need him to play like one for 1 playoffs when they have everyone else to support him in order to win a title.

Where are you mutants in the beginning of the season? Who cares if he's is not Durant. He is on the Rockets and that's who we roll with. Do you even remember the past three years? They are looking good and have Harden as the young leader who is taking steps to lead the Rockets to having a championship banner in the next 3 years. Do you wish we had kept Martin? No. Then shut ya fish lips and be happy that we made the playoffs.

I think James Harden is James Harden. Give him credit for his first year as the first option and leading this team to unexpected milestones.

You don't even need a tier 1 superstar to win championships...you just need two or three perennial all-star.

Pierce and Allen were not Tier 1 superstars. Garnett was...but not during most of his Celtic time...(KG in Minny was a monster...) he was aging then.

Harden is a keeper, anyone that says otherwise is dumb. I'm sorry. He's going to be a perennial superstar and likely top 3 SG for most of his career.

You people are ridiculous. I thought he played outstanding this season. Better then I think anyone expected. He isn't even in his prim yet. He's already a top 10-15 player at the least. In two years he will be top 5.

Jeff Van Gundy said it and an insider of the Rockets confirmed it. Van Gundy said Morey was adamant about making the trade and he insisted on it and that he convinced Dawson and Van Gundy to make the trade by showing them advanced stats that suggest Battier was better.

I am going to trust Van Gundy on this one over you.

No. Fire him for showing an inability to properly asses talent. It's the same thing with this James Harden contract.

It's not that Rudy Gay is great, or Battier is bad, it;s the total failure that Morey has shown for understanding how to use the draft and assess the actual value of players.

Presti knew Harden was never worth that contract. Morey was not smart enough to figure it out.

It's obvious that Harden needs work to become Rudy Gay.
