Most of these lower level reporters echo what the elite thinkers (Zach Lowe types) say. That group is beginning the transition away from Russ and Harden and going to the Kawhi/Durant "play both sides of the floor" stance. I hope it doesn't continue down this path, but it is being pushed in that direction currently

Mainstream media will say Beard has a lot of assists because he has the 3pt champ as his teammate.

Nuh westbrook would rather 3-peat it himself. But dont forget who the coach is. He's not gonna please Westbrook and pray Westbrook would go easy on them in playoff like Rivers

Westbrook is hogging everything in the all-stars game just to proof something...this guy.

Harden allstar voters are frustrating to watch.

Lou Williams will help the Westbrook Truthers' argument that "Harden has more help"

Stephen A.: Should not hand out the MVP trophy without Harden's name on it.

Skip: Russ is pulling away in MVP. Houston's made 171 more threes than Golden State(4th). James is getting easier assists. In the end, Russell Westbrook is averaging a triple double. This is an extraordinary feat.

Broussard: Last 2 games Houston took 4 mid-range shots. Right now I have Harden ever so slightly ahead. I would like Russ to get closer to 50 wins, not necessarily 50 & if they can move up from the 7th seed. If he averages a triple double, I almost have to give him MVP. Nobody has been able to do it. Unless Rockets get 62-64 wins, I'd have to give it to Westbrook.

Shannon: 7 1/2 games ahead, that should mean something. [If the Thunder were able to get the 5th seed] Absolutely Westbrook.

    2 extra points + 2.5 extra rebounds (cherry picked) > > > 4 seeds and 8 games higher and 1 extra assist

Harden needs 62-64 wins without a 2nd star player from a team predicted pre-season to potentially miss the playoffs in order to overcome Westbrook's extra 2 rebounds a game. Harden is getting "easier assists" from teammates that were universally panned in free agency.

Congrats to Westbrook, I guess. If he wins, I guess Harden's next step is to average a triple double on a historic team, as that appears to be his only shot.

It has been Westbrook's award to lose all season long. The press is more familiar with Westbrook to begin with. It would take a collapse for Westbrook to not win it. OKC has a fairly easy schedule and will finish strong. It is going to be hard for Harden to win an MVP without the Rockets getting to the Finals and changing the narrative held by the press.

Nobody's gonna change their mind when the Rockets go on a 16-0 run when Harden sits on the bench like in the last game. At some point, we need to admit that it's not Harden who is carrying this team to a 60 win or the championship; the contribution is much more evenly spread than what Westbrook is doing in OKC.

Why is it that in 2015, when Harden had better stats, but fewer wins than Curry, he losses...but in 2017 when he has more wins but fewer stats than Russ, he still losses???

I think Dwight coming back in 2015 hurt Harden's MVP chances, even though he got the 2nd seed. Also, a triple double is hard to look over.

You take Harden off the Rockets and they would be a lottery team.

Don't be fooled, Harden IS a HUGE part of the Rockets.

Also, Westbrook has more quality players than people like to admit.

The Rockets are able to put guys in a position to do well because of Harden.
