Russell can do no wrong.. Harden and the Rockets destroying OKC further reinforces Westbrook's MVP case.

Thank goodness the votes are in.

Westbrook can get his trophy after getting swept. I don't care either way at this point. Playoff success trumps regular season trophies

At this point, I want Westrbrook to get the MVP just to show how foolish the media is about 'mah narrative'. If anything it's just going to make Harden even work harder over the ofseason.

Even if the Rockets falter in the second round, I'm really looking forward to one season because the Rockets are going to get the pick of the liter in free agency. People are going to want to lay for Harden way more than Westbrook and that in itself speaks volumes.

Statbrook is so unlikable too. Undeserved on so many levels if Statbrook wins.

If anyone wants a live look in on why the Rockets are good. Check out the 3.40-4.00 of this video. Both of those shots would have been forced Westbrook shots.

James Harden making his teammates better. He was robbed of the MVP trophy

westbrook is in the absolute best place to be as a superstar nba player.

if the thunder win and he has a great game, it's "OMG westbrook is so amazing yadda yadda yadda"

if the thunder lose and he has a great game, its "look all those bums westbrook plays with yadda yadda yadda"

if the thunder lose with him have a **** game, its "see, if westbrook doesn't play well his team can't win"

if the thunde rwin with him having a **** game, its "well it's about time his teammates step up, yadda yadda yadda"

It makes sense, given the ESPN focus group testing conducted on this series:

"One, Russell needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Two, whenever Russell's not on screen, all the other characters should be asking "Where's Russell"? Three..."

Funny all the pro-Westbrook idiots/voters on ESPN: "Its just one game" "SA blew out OKC by 30 last year and OKC still won the series"

I think it's time to realize that it's official. Westbrook is officially the new Kobe.

Infallible beyond measure. Any criticism is met with mob-like refutation. Media and casual fans love him beyond reproach. Every loss is on his teammates, every win is on him. Efficiency doesn't matter. Helped run off star teammate. Gets described with things like "non-stop motor" and "passionate" and "endless will to win" and "most competitive player in the league".

It's truly official. The similarities are endless.

He is similar only worse at basically everything. Kobe at the very end when he was absolutely nothing more than a god awful chucker that was only out for individual stats is where Westbrick is starting off. Also there was a point where Kobe was a 38% 3 point shooter....I don't think Westbrick ever gets that good. He had a career year this season at 34%

Did anyone catch what DA said at 3:31???? he said Donovan says we have kanter and gibson and adams and grant, we should rebound better.

His own coach doesnt even say russ is a good rebounder. Just goes to show how much he is gifted on those boards.

There's no way it will look like a screw job after today. There's no better case for Westbrook than him putting up great numbers while Harden plays like crap but still wins thanks to the amazing efforts of his supporting cast. Maybe Harden was trying to do his buddy a favor today.

The MVP award is officially meaningless. In the past decade plus it's gone to Derrick Rose and Steve Nash twice, when Lebron and Kobe should have been the winners. Now they don't even announce it until the postseason is over, so you won't be seeing anymore moments like Dirk losing in the first round or Hakeem besting Robinson with the MVP as added motivation.

It just, doesn't, matter anymore. Harden will never win it because national media hate the aesthetics of his game, never mind the fact that no one liked the aesthetics of Shaq's game either. All that matters now is winning. Last time I checked, he was still just as effective in the postseason as the regular season, and he's not being officiated any differently. Go get 'em James.

You're missing the point. There is no scenario that doesn't end in Westbrook being the MVP.

    - Harden and Westbrook play well + Rockets win = Harden has more help. Westbrook MVP
    - Harden plays well Westbrook doesn't play well + Rockets win = Harden has more help. Easier to do well. Westbrook MVP
    - Harden and Westbrook don't play well + Rockets win = Rockets have supporting cast. Can carry Harden. Westbrook MVP
    - Harden plays bad. Westbrook plays good + Rockets win = Westbrook carried his team. Couldn't overcome Harden's help. Westbrook MVP
    - Same thing as the previous situations + Thunder win = Westbrook willed his team to a win, despite less help.

This is the story of the season. There is no scenario that overcomes that narrative.

Also...Harden was hurt, apparently. So yeah...

This **** really makes no sense.

All it's really proving is once again the media will screw Harden.

If they give Westbrook the MVP this year (looks like they will 98%) like I've said before, they should take away Curry's MVP from 2 years ago an give it to Harden since Curry had 2 other all stars an Harden was carrying the Rockets with who, drama Dwight that was out like 45+ games?

    Yea... pffft.

Announcing a regular season award after the playoffs has made the MVP obsolete.
