Westbrick over here...Westbrick over there...Westbrick everywhere! The hype is almost getting to Curry level...not quite but close! BSPN has no shame...Why can't they hype Harden for once? They always downplay Harden...talk down about Harden...downplay his achievements....with Harden there's always a BUT! But but but but!! Give the man his due...give him the respect he deserves!! Why can't Harden get the Curry Westbrick treatment? People need to know the great player he his...the people need to know!! I'm tired of the BSPN Shaqtin a fool lies about Harden! Harden does play defense! He’s not a flopper! He gets fouled so much and the refs won’t call it! He is a leader! He took the Rockets to playoffs every year since he got here! Last year was not Hardens fault! The idiot coach and the Diva were holding Harden back! How can you not give Harden the MVP? You’re disrespecting the game by not giving Harden the MVP! Stat-padders do not deserve MVP. Players who take their team to the 3rd best record in the NBA deserve MVP! They said Rockets were 7th or 8th seed at best...Rockets have overwhelmingly surpassed expectations and you still won’t give Harden the MVP. Harden plays the game the way it’s supposed to be played...he doesn't care who scores as long as it’s the Rockets...but you're going to give it to a ballhog stat-padder?! Shame on you...shame on you voters! SHAME!

It's impossible to say Westbrook doesn't deserve it at this point. It just sucks that Harden's incredible year happened the same year as Westbrook's.

It's not and it is. MVPs come from top teams. The last person to avg a trip dub didn't win MVP. If he had 1 less rebound a game he wouldn't be in MVP contention.

the general consensus on clutchfans is westbrook is having an amazing season (averaging triple double WHILE leading the league in scoring, are you kidding me?!?!?) but he just shouldn't win MVP because his team won't win over 50 games and he has the 10th best record in the league,

i've been watching basketball my entire life and i would always hear "if you're team doesn't win at least 50 games are you "really" that valuable?" when someone slides a candidate in mvp conversations with a mediocre record.

if the whole argument is "westbrook's team would even be in the playoffs without him" then you could say that about a lot of players / teams

take john wall off the wizards and they're a lottery team
take isiah thomas off the celtics and they're a lottery team.
take giannis off the bucks and they're a lottery team.

that's why having an unwritten standard of 50 wins / top 4 team makes the award have more clarity and less manipulation to fit a narrative.

I guarantee you if the roles were reversed and harden was averaging a triple double on a team with the 10th best record and westbrook was averaging 29/11/8 on a team with the 3rd best record in the league, they would give it to westbrook because of "team success".

people just don't like harden and the way he plays and he's been spited for it since he came to the rockets.

They want to reward Westbrook because Durant "abandoned " OKC. If Durant had stayed it would be
Westbrook abandoning OKC this summer. There wasn't/isn't enough money to pay both long term.
    (Pardon my grammar)
Plus the media loves to hate Houston!!

James needs to worry about the team award not the individual award. That's why I'm not as quick as many to say he's one of the greatest Rockets ever yet.

We're talking about 46 wins and 2 extra uncontested, box out for Russ, rebounds. It's not MVP worthy and that's not my opinion that's the opinion of voters over the last 25+ years. That said, I agree with that opinion so I would vote for Harden or Kawhi.

i wouldn't have as much of a problem with kawhi over harden for mvp. at least it's consistent with what voters look for in an mvp for decades.

Plus didn't Kawhi come in 2nd last year? So that's another reason it wouldn't be shocking or inexplicable for him to get it this year, especially given how the Spurs haven't really missed a beat despite Duncan's retirement.

So when Westbrook wins, will the Thunder have the worst record ever with an MVP on it?

I don't think so. Didn't Moses or Kareem win it on worse teams? In the modern era though, definitely.

Agreed and don't forget Kobe only won one during his career. We can all agree Kobe deserved more than just one MVP during his career and unfortunately that might be the case with Harden as well. I'm still hoping for a co MVP assuming that's even possible.

See this is the type of **** that makes me dislike Morey. Just shut up. We are looking like a bunch of whiners who are looking for validation. It's getting old.

This was normal in the past but I think it will change in the future if the said person whose team is a playoff team and who has had the best stats, 1 or 2 Alltime records, has been to the Allstar game that year.

3rd seed is great but we as a team do give up a lot points while being elite at Offense.

It takes away from what Harden did, also we only possess an average record against Top teams AT BEST.

    1-3 Spurs
    1-3 GSW
    1-1 Cavs
    1-1 Boston

Neither WB nor Harden are flawless so the public probably observe who's got the best finish at the end of the season.
WB clearly has the better finish.
Harden can only hope he gets a lot of those First and Second votes and WB gets less second votes.

You can forget about who got more help? Harden or WB? This is just MVP banter nothing substantial.
    Both have no legit allstars.

Eric Gordon might be Best Sixth Man.

Please shut the F up Maury. Just do your job and stop twatting. Contrary to your delusional belief, you're not helping James Harden one bit. If anything, voters will go against him reading your passive aggressive tweets trying to call them out.
