James Harden is gonna get screwed over again in MVP Voting

He's the most clutch ( this season) because he takes all the shots and while no other player on his team dares to take any from him, he reminds me of Kobe 2006 where he would keeps bricking them shots like there's no tomorrow. Harden 14-15 was more clutch and efficient and imo he could have been this season's most clutch player but we play an entire different system this year where we have more shooters.

 

WB is not chasing history. Instead, he and his teammates are orchestrating towards a historical yet insignificant combination of #'s.

 

but I thought harden was at strip clubs all the time?

 

Anyone else notice harden playing super weak defense, favoring that wrist or preventing it from getting hurt?

 

Nah, lately he has been obedient. He only gets stripped on the court.

It's looking like a lot more people are starting to sway towards Russ now. We're third in the entire league! That has to count for something. It always has in the past so I'm hoping the voters keep it real. It was the reason one of the main reasons why Harden lost it to Curry in '15. Can't believe people are losing their **** bc Russ is getting 2 more rpg smh

 

It's the triple double average. That negates every other standard for MVP voting that's existed up until now. But I really wish the media would at least dispense with this "Harden has more help" narrative they've conveniently made up to justify supporting Westbrook over him. Last night, James had to carry his team to a win over a shorthanded, tired Nuggets squad because guys like Gordon were shooting something like 2-14 from the field.

 

Westbrook has a better supporting cast than Harden. Adams is an all-NBA C, while our C is a backup C who does nothing but catch lobs.

Harden deserves it, and Harden will get it. Westbrook's team record will be his demise.

Westbrook was the winner before the season started. The narrative would be whatever it needed to be.

The latest is that he "saved the franchise." Preposterous.

If you set all of the media attention aside, I'd have no issue with Westbrook winning the award on its face. What bothers me is the continual double standards used by the media to push the person they want to push.

 

Hmm.....let's see the scenarios....

1) MVP and no trophy......good for Harden, sucks once again for the city of Houston.

2) No MVP and championship trophy......he'll be sad, but the city of Houston will be rocking and he'll be motivated next season to get it.

3) Yes, there is the 3rd option of getting MVP and trophy, awesome.....win win for both him and the city.

Number 3 would obviously be the best option.....but the MVP is just glitz and glamour. The end goal is the championship. Remember Robert Horry? He was just a role player......he didn't win any MVPs, but ended up with 7 titles. Big Shot Rob. He played like an MVP when it counted.

That's what I want Harden to do. I rather him get Finals MVP than a regular season MVP.

Just get me my damn championship trophy.

 

Ok, but I don't see why you'd want him to get screwed out of an MVP. I'd want him to win the MVP and then set his sights on getting a championship. Morey will have to upgrade this roster before we can even start talking about championships anyways. This team we have right now is no championship contender. Harden and role players just isn't enough to win it all.

 

Why set his sights on the MVP before the championship? It should be championship and then MVP. MVP is a consolation prize. I don't give a crap about the MVP.

The end goal is the championship. Period. For this team, anything can happen.....we'll just have to watch and see.

seriously. i love my rockets but we're not a real contender.

we're not even close to good enough defensively.

i want harden to win mvp because he has been screwed so much by the media since he came to the rockets

* losing mvp while having better numbers than steph with worse teammates
* not even making all-nba 3rd team while averaging 29-7-6

not to mention adding a mvp to harden's resume would add another chip in recruiting free agents.

 

The truth is Westbrook makes players around him looks average.

No one wants to discuss this openly yet, I imagine after years of futility for OKC it will be discussed but...

If you look at Durant and Westbrook you can argue that he negatively hampered Durant's game. We know that he did the same for Harden, they couldn't even share the court together. Westbrook is just too dominating. You see it at all-star games the guy just goes out and doesn't give a ____ about anyone else on the court.
