This wasn't an issue when Curry was sitting out 4th quarters because his team was up 30 on teams.

Those with $$ on it now have the odds at:

    Harden - 1.71
    Westbrook - 2.30
    Leonard - 15
    James - 15

Agree completely, and that would be so... Houston to get f'd by the media again. I don't mind rooting for the guy who never seems to get a fair shake.

Thought this was a good listen. First 30 minutes of the pod are on the MVP race. Danny Leroux and SI's Ben Golliver.

I appreciated Golliver's approach to the MVP race. He is pro Harden. He isn't "moving the goal posts" and has good facts to back up his thoughts. Very similar in style to Howard Beck's pro Harden stance. My hope is more of the voting media take this approach.

This is a great tweet. And I agree. I think the voters that take a more measured/statistical/precedent approach will vote Harden. And voters that just like aesthetics will vote for the flashy Westbrook.

James Harden is great. He's been nothing short of brilliant this year. But the one thing I question (outside of his turnovers), is "is Harden competitive enough at times". It seems he's missing that mean streak that puts those superstars players in a different galaxy. I think that's why fans lean towards WB because they know Westbrook's going to try to rip your heart out and eat it. I don't think Harden has that in his DNA. Can we win a championship with a player who doesn't have the dog in him?

If OKC ends up as the 4th seed, it's hard not to vote for him. The year Harden clearly should've won was in 2015 when Harden was so clutch and carrying the team hard.

Too bad the dumb ass hating media didn't even make that race close. Curry won by a large margin.

Harden has it, it is just that he is an introvert and doesn't show those characteristics that an extrovert would show.

Kobe speaks pretty highly of Harden. He wouldn't if he didn't think Harden was super competitive.

all we can do is pray at this point...I'm hoping that there will be enough intelligent voters that won't be so enamored with the triple double and recognize what Harden has done from a statistical and winning standpoint

Don't you know? That's because Curry makes his teammates better.

Klay, Green, Iguodala...all were made better by Curry. Put Klay on the 6ers and I bet he looks more like Corey Brewer.

It took me a little while to accept, admittedly, but the MVP is pre-determined. Within 10 games that year, it was obvious Curry was the golden boy and would win. Any thought process necessary to prop him would be used. Same this year with Westbrook. Golden boy, will win because it's the best story.

next season will be Kawhi's year...the media will say that there's too much attention being paid to offensive juggernauts like Harden and Westbrook, it's time to recognize 2-way players

    This post is hysterical.

We're talking about the same Harden who's elevated a team full of role players to the 3rd best record in the league -- eclipsing LeBron's trio of All-Stars. So because Harden is the engine that literally drives our success, he's not competitive enough???

Never mind that Harden is the FIRST player in NBA history to record a 50-pt triple double (didn't even need OT). HE DID IT TWICE in the same season. Oh yeah, he also owns the most 40-pt triple doubles in a season. How's that for dog DNA???

    Recency bias is a b****.

Harden was very clutch his first 3 years in Houston, better than Westbrook, and Curry.

And possibly the clutchest player in the league in 2015. Most points and terriffic fg%.

While Westbrook was one of least clutch, and has had bad fg% most years.
This is WBs best clutch year. Also looks like he may already have the most FGA ever in clutch time, the last 18 years at least. (based on this websites data)
