I can easily explain how he gets to the free throw line that many times and a way to stop it. STOP FOULING JAMES HARDEN.

    it's just harden,

the same people hating harden loved it when these guys were getting the same free throw attempts

they loved when kobe had 25 free throws through 3 quarters.

it's only a problem when harden does it.

Harden with his last game, has over taken Kevin Durant for first place in Total Points scored even though Harden was out for 3 games at the beginning of the season. Harden currently has a game point average of 33.3, almost 5 points higher than second place Curry at 28.7.

The bad mouthing of Harden is happening because Harden plays the odds...he is basketball smart. Take his step-back; what makes it so successful for him and not for other players that do it? Two reasons, his gather and step back are huge steps not smaller steps other players use. Harden's step back forces the defense to stand pat and let Harden take an undefended step back 3-pt shot, or run toward him and stop where he will land. The 3-pt shot is a 50/50 shot, but the defender moving toward him is a definite 100% fts...he plays the odds. He does the same when he drives to the basket...for the defender it is "pick your poison", two point layup or 2 FTs. That's smart basketball...and that is why other team's fans hate him. He has FINE TUNED his shot selections into smarter and analytical basketball. And then you add his ability to see the court for team mates to score, and he is a great offensive player.

All Harden needs to do is improve his defense, and he could be the greatest currently playing in the NBA...and improving his defense is a possibility. We have seen him get better at defense every year, so he could become a 2-player in the future.

Bullard had a piece on Rocket Access about the two most efficient shot areas in the NBA. The first most efficient is under the basket and the other is the 3-pt shot...two shot areas Harden excels and plays the odds with. When smart basketball meshes with talent, it equals greatness. That brings hatred from other team's fans...it's called envy. We should enjoy what we have and try to smile/laugh at every moment of envy...yes, sometimes that is easier said then done.

Harden, keep it going...we love it.

Yes, they thought the Dream Shake was traveling, now we have current players "traveling" all the time like the Dream.

Great players always feel the heat.

Jordan: Selfish - can't pass or play D (until he won those rings)
Kobe: very hated - selfish and a prima donna - until he won all those rings
LeBron: Hated - sellout and ring chaser - until he won that ring in Cleveland

    See a pattern?

This is his year. Last year he could almost taste it.
If we add someone before the trade deadline that can help us and replace Melo or MCW or both. Warriors are not the same team this is the rockets beat chance if we get into last season form. Harden is, we just need Chris too. And hopefully Gordon doesn’t go cold again.

It just goes to show how media narratives and ignorant fans can shape the perception of a player. Harden had never been a bad teammate, has never had trouble off the floor, and isn’t even a jerk when playing basketball.

When deeply angered at a reporter the rudest he got was calling Fran a “weirdo”. He doesn’t disrespect women, is always nice to fans and respectful in interviews.

What has he done? Draw fouls? There are plenty of superstars that draw fouls at a similar rate, and even some with significant off-court troubles and accusations that are LOVED by everyone. Hmmm...

Also his defense is fine. Good, even, when locked in

We must also be the fanbase that cares about what others think about our superstar.

    Say it ain't so.

Let Harden play for 4 years on them Memphis Grizzlies. Dribble and dribble for 22 seconds on the clock every possession.

I do get your point but these comparisons are wrong. Those guys definitely had haters and were often times polarizing, but it’s not the same as the near unanimous disdain for harden. Yahoo sports would never tweet out a gif of lebron traveling and edit in to him being all over the world. Kobe won all those rings early so not a good comparison. He was polarizing after drill for being a jerk and the rape case. That said, as much hate as he got there wouldn’t be major media outlets refusing to call him a top 5 player.

This is a deep seeded dislike that starts with the backlash against the analytical movement and grows from there.

It’s important to note though that his peers and coaches around the league respect him. It’s just fans and media.

If that was strictly against analytics and its movement, I dun see whole lot of dislike or hate for Daryl Morey.

Some folks mock him but that is more about his nerdish nature and his looks.

Definition: HACK - Verb - A foul or offense against an offensive player that has superior skill to the defender. The Defender sees this as the only way to stop the offensive player.
HACK - Noun - A player that employs this type of defense

HATRED OF JAMES HARDEN: Because he turns elite defensive players into HACKS!
