The team obviously isn't good enough but this is another example of Harden being pretty weak. He hasn't looked too interested since coming back from the foot injury and his play hasn't been good enough either. When the going gets tough he usually quits. Just sit him until they can trade him.

I thought it's been established that Tilman was the one who made the final call on this?

This is exactly what he would have done next season with 1 year left on his deal. He would kill any trade he didn’t like and say he would never re-sign. This why he could never ever make it past the deadline in an ideal scenario. It sucks to hear the finality to his voice and it’s sucks losing the face of the franchise but get the best deal and move on.

he’s checked out. He’s telling you point blank. There are no grey area’s here. Get your best package and print up the divorce papers to be signed

He even left right after making that statement. He knew what he was saying would be controversial. Not sure why you're trying to spin this. It wasn't a nonchalant way of saying it at all.

Harden is really managing his life and this situation badly. He was a player that was universally disliked by media and other fans before this season. He has a bad reputation off the court. He gave $100k to a rapper for his birthday during a pandemic when millions of people are suffering from unemployment. Everyone has their flaws, but Harden is really putting his on full display for the NBA world.

It's a shame for Rockets fans, because Harden could be enjoying himself and entertaining highly appreciative fans during a time when everyone could use a little relief. Just a few weeks ago things looked promising with Wood, Wall, and Cousins joining the rotation, but he's shown his bad side, confirming a lot of the things we didn't want to believe.

Life for an NBA player is a sprint. After perfecting your trade, you might have a 10 year window to really contribute. Unfortunately for Harden, he made a few massive mistakes, namely Westbrook. Now he's going to think about only himself... it remains to be seen how that will affect his situation now and in the future. Reputations follow you.

He did, at the demand of Harden. If he says no, Harden just pulls this BS a year earlier

    Another year making $50 mil.

mph yeah, that’s not the point of playing in the NBA.

I guess Every Allstar should quit on their team if they can’t beat the Lakers or the Bucks.

Stupid Lillard out there trying lol. What a loser.

FWIW people DID think LeBron James quit on his team in the playoffs his last year in Cleveland and a lot was made of it... the last 3 games of that series James was -51 and shot only 53 shots and made 18 of them. He had 19 turnovers and he was described as “disinterested”.

This is what we have been seeing in the playoffs every year. Not surprised about his antics right now

    That's simply not true.

Did you forget the season where we 11-14 and got to 4th in the west? He didn't have Gordon, CP3 and Capela for a combined total of 45 games. He was basically playing with a G League team. Most superstars would have struggled and given up, but Harden carried that team on his back and dropped insane numbers.

Nonsense, there was no one available, that could have been had that would have made a difference. That's just making excuses for the damage Harden did to the franchise with his diva BS.

Everybody on that squad are grown men. He didn't call out anyone by name. If what he said hurt feelings, then they're soft as snowflakes. Got to be able be honest with the state of the team's play.

Van Gundy once said: 'Team chemistry is nice, but it's also overrated.'

You can have efficient working relationship; and still get the job done. Beer after work not required.

I think the point for me would be to have pride and win games.

People don't want to hear it but that's the difference between the Warriors and rockets right now. Not like their team is drastically better than ours right now...but these fools actually believe they are going to win a championship.

Maybe if he put up those numbers we would be 6-3 instead of 3-6 and then maybe players would play better around him because they are confident that he'll come through for them if they give all they have.

I think there is always a point in winning games...just pride of it. Texans sucked ass but Watson was out there trying to win games just on pride alone.

not in the beginning of a season. He at least made it the playoffs before quitting.

he also never demanded a trade

You may want to check his stats in the playoffs. He turns up in the majority of his playoff games. Only a stupid narrative would think otherwise.
