Congratulations to Ennis on the 3 Yr-45 Million dollar contract he’ll be getting in a couple of years.
Positionless basketball is the goal when you have 3 elite D wing players, 2 of which were 6-8 with condor like wingspans. Ennis and MCW do not have the length of either Ariza or Luc or thick like PJ. I am hopeful however.
No kidding. I still expect him to end up with RGV just because they won't want him to rot on the bench, but there's an outside chance he wows enough in camp/preseason that he forces his way onto the team. If his "new" jumper is legit...lookout. That said, team will probably want him in RGV where he can play everyday, significant minutes and can keep working that jumper into his muscle memory.
Well I think in the Rocket's minds it was one or the other. We have what 13 players now? My guess is we get another 3 and D player when we trade Anderson. Like Wes Matthews or Kent Bazemore.
If you're gonna say a bad contract is fine because because it can be so beneficial in some hypothetical unknown trade in the future.... sure it could be beneficial... it could also be the guaranteed contract that prevents us from bringing in the next Gerald Green... or forces us to waive the next Robert Covington... We had a few expiring contracts last year - for all the good they did us... A player option always benefits the player... a team option always benefits the team.... regardless of amount - which is why Morey typically doesnt offer them up... but you keep pushing your narrative... like the people that think we should keep Ryno on the books for another year (even if he's worthless) because his contract is gonna be the salary matching silver bullet thats gonna be a hot commodity once its expiring, thats gonna net us another star...lol... smh.... Once again, its a reasonable contract... but the player options reeks of desperation...
I hate it too for that reason. But in this market, to get him in Houston the Rockets probably had to do it. Otherwise he could have taken a richer deal with Sacramento, who was also courting him. They have to do what they can do for now....and just worry about next year later on.
Really like the Ennis signing overall. Good value play. On this market, he was the best available get. Only downside is not getting the 2nd year on the deal. If he plays well, in next year's cap market he probably leaves for a better deal, like 3 or 4M a year type deal. We'll see. Still, to add a 3&D wing for the bench rotation...that's a plus. And he is younger at 28. Has some spring to the legs and can get out on the fast break some.
Ad hominem argument now? Bravo! Smh... If Tucker starts, it won't be at power forward. That's Melo's position with us. I also don't need need a drawn out response time and again as to why you disagree to prove to the board your dynamic basketball acumen. I'm just asking you to put your money where your mouth is if you're that confident. Sound good or no?
Boom. At first you said PJ was coming off the bench, and now you have reversed course faster than a speeding bullet. Own your words. “PJ Tucker will come off the bench” THAT is false. On the Rockets, If you pay attention and don’t heed NBA 2k so much, you will see that the 3 and the 4 have nearly identical responsibilities on both ends of the floor. But hey Bud, whatever suits your backtracking, right?
When James Ennis was in the NBL for the Perth Wildcats he was one of the MVP favourites leading into the NBL presentations, really had a stellar year. For some unknown reason he didn't win the MVP..... He ended up throwing the All Star trophy he received in the Yarra River straight away after the presentations. I always loved him for the passion he displayed and has been great for Perth ever since coming out and doing basketball camps and supporting the Wildcats
Oh ****! James Ennis is about to show the world he's on ___________ level! LerBon James'? Kevin Durant's? Rudy Gay's? Trevor Ariza's? Luc Mbah a Moute's?
