I certainly hoped that equal offer + James willingness to play close to home could be enough.

 

The whole deal is, if we get MJ to agree to the MLE deal (I have a feeling he already has), then we can work on the S&T deal up until July 12th, although I'm sure we are pushing to get the S&T deal finished so we can move on to offering our MLE to somebody(s) else.

Would Washington match a MLE offer to Jared Jeffries?

 

I think the Wizards will match any MLE offer.

 

That would put them at or over $60 million payroll. I'd think they would really be interested in dumping salary for a TE if that is indeed the case.

Maybe so jopatmc but he is a multi-role player with good height who fits in well with the team and is one of the few players who is a decent defender.

I think that report is bogus, mainly because it references whether we can come up with the $$. None of the teams mentioned can pay mroe than we can.

I live in Dallas now, and the talk radio here is saying that the Mavs think he is gonna sign with Houston. There doesn't seem to be a sense of urgency considering they have Terry and Devin Harris. They still want him, but the radio guys seem to think it's now a long shot

I don't know why people keep saying CD is genius. To me he's got to be one of the worst GM in the league. The only players the rockets get is players that want to come here. Every year we watch all good free agents get snatched up and the Rockets are left with the leftovers. Now that Mike James is supposely on board, next on CD's list is the leftovers.
