I 100% agree, and also, I do think that there's a chance that with Mike James last year, we would have made the playoffs.

Exactly. In essence, we are using this year's MLE on Rafer frickin Alston.

Gater, that's true but management said they would not have traded him if they knew McGrady and Yao would go down. And although we wouldn't have to be spending the MLE on him this year, we would be out shopping around for that essential point guard that we now have in Rafer and we would have had to use either a chunk of the MLE to get that guy or we would have had to given up somebody in a trade.

Furthermore, had we had James last year we might have made the playoffs and would not be so angry and disappointed about trading our draft pick, which would have been in the high teens or low 20s -- not #8.

And we sure wouldn't have been able to get Battier in that trade. And we would still be stuck with Stro draining us for $5+ million a year.

Yep, another stupid management decision. We clean up our mistakes with other mistakes that are less of a mistake. :D

They should split the difference. Make that fifth year partially guaranteed. That way it becomes an attractive expiring contract.

Oh and "heard it on the radio" is pretty much internet code for BS. It's the easiest way to make something sound plausible, and yet have it be totally unsubstantiated at the same time.

CD gives up next years 1st rounder, then MGrady retires becuase of chronic back problems and Ming snaps his achilis. Toronto ends up with the 1st pick in the draft and selects Greg Oden 7-0 250 C Ohio St. Fr.Who becomes the most dominating player in the leauge. Toronto then makes it to the finals where everyone cant wait to see Toronto take on Memphis and the great Rudy Gay.

I just threw up in my mouth and swallowed it......................then did it again!

Honestly it didn't used to be this way. The Rockets Management has made us skeptical and pessimistic.

Rockets certainly isn't the kind of the team that gets a good deal.

After Speedy's contract, I suspected 4y MLE + 5th player opetion is what's in the bag for James. Otherwise Mike James would have gone to Hawks. However, I was hoping CD somehow can get it done for 4years, given James wants to play in Houston.

Well, Why am I not suprised CD completely give in. Mike James is basiclly what Rockets must sign now.

Oh well, I guess I can care less about the size the contract. Let's get some wins.

Come on man. Anybody that thinks that we are going to have a repeat of the injury situation from last year has to be very pessimistic. We are trying to build this team so that there is more to our team than just TMac and Yao. That's the reason behind all these moves. You know, the odds are greater that DWade and Shaq go down next year then it is that both Yao and TMac go down again. Shaq has notorious injuries every year and the way DWade throws his body around, he is just an injury waiting to happen. Quit looking at the mud and start looking at the stars.

It's just hard to be optimistic or see the stars when the official Rocket management toast is "Here's mud in your eye."
