I am not sure how many touches will be left to Yao next year.

    >25 shots for Tmac
    >20 shots for James
    <10 shots for Yao?

the deal is a bit on the long side.

however, we need to win in the next 3 or 4 years. who cares about after that. first get the ring! WHATEVER IT TAKES.

It is 52 shots combined, so how many for the others, 0? :p

Any updates? It has been "close" all day now.

The Funny thing is RealGM's source on the MJ thing is, none other than, the Toronto Sun. Which is probable the Toronto Radio stations source as well.

Please, give me a break! I'm so sick of all the b***ing people do about CD. Why don't y'all go ask the "fans" in Atlanta, Charlotte, New York, LA (before last season) and New Orleans (before this offseason) how they feel about their GMs. The guy has CONSISTENTLY tried to make moves to make this team better. He has had the balls to take the gamble and trade for the highly-talented Eddie Griffin and Steve Francis, both of whom were considered by many as the best prospects in their respective drafts. He went against the grain and selected Yao Ming 1st overall in that draft even though the critics and fans knew for sure he was going to be a bust, especially compared to the "once in a lifetime" PG sitting there to be selected. He makes solid mid-season moves to give the team a push (Barry, Wesley, Posey, etc). And, I'm sorry, I don't care how badly TMac wanted to play here, CD GOT IT DONE! And, the same will be said if/when James signs here.

And, hello, it's called the SALARY CAP of which every team but maybe 2-4 every year are over. And, what you call leftovers, I call quality depth and role players. The Rockets have their two all-stars. Now they need the quality role-players to compliment them. I didn't see/read too many b****ing about signing Swift and Anderson last offseason. According to MANY on this very board, they had a great offseason and were primed to compete for the Western Conference title. A year later, CD is an idiot for making those moves. Of course, everyone magically forgets the moves he made this season that got them those TE's which gave them more flexibility and assets to make stuff happen this offseason.

Now, not every move has worked, but he gets sh** done to try to make this team a winner. There is a reason why these players want to play here. It's because they know that this GM and organization is not afriad to pull the trigger on what they feel is right.

Thank you, Mogrod! I'm sick of it too. I just want the season to start so all of these nay-sayers will STFU.

The news of James coming to Houston is spreading. Now Slam Sports reported it. http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Basketball/NBA/Toronto/2006/07/06/1670939-sun.html

I think it was Slam that predicted and almost guaranteed Qyntel Woods with the ROY.

Quit whinning. You are suffering from grass-is-greener syndrome. By ANY standard, the Rockets are a top 10 team if you look at the last 25 years or so. All teams have ebbs and flows but we generally have a contending team ...as we will this season once again.
