I live in Philly and saw several Hawk games this year, including one in person.

If we get Jameer Nelson and T-Mac this offseason, we're set for a decade.

(Well, after we get a bruising PF that is ... ;) )

p.s. Great players drop to 20 all the time.

If Gaines and Lue are in the deal as it seems, the Magic need to add a point to their roster. I don't think anyone was projecting Nelson to come into the NBA and start. He certainly shouldn't mind backing up Stevie.

Okay I was just thinking. What if Orlando made this trade for the Rockets in order to complete the T-Mac deal. And after the draft the Rox will do the T-mac deal and include a future first rounder to make up for the one that orlando loses.

I did some research, and Gaines is considered by Magic fans as being the bust of the draft last year...

They said that doc rivers has an infatuation with tall PGs, and would inflate their abilities. They said that Gaines is by no means a PG because he has horrible handles, causing teams to easily beat him with traps in the few times he played. They also said that he cant shoot the rock to save his life.

Just because he has height, doesnt make him better than nelson and if traded here Gaines will probably project as a back-up 2 or 3.

this could be true, cause their was not much talent in the draft.

then Orl just got hosed, (I thought the same). Our pick will be at the end of the first round and theirs will likely be a lotto pick...maybe CD didn't take the time to explain that all first round picks ARE NOT created equal.

Talk about getting ahead of ourselves. How about if we stop fantasizing about Nelson and go back to praying that this doesn't mean the McGrady deal is dead. That seems rather more important, don't you think?

    You left out:
6)Nelson will be part of the TMac deal to Houston

On the other hand, if he's picked for Houston why wouldn't the Rockets have traded a 1st rounder themselves?

Sorry Will... love your posts, love your Slate articles, we share the same name... but I can't hear you right now.

    Starter: Hudson or Fisher
    Backup: Nelson

    PG-Fisher/Nelson
    SG-McGrady/Jackson
SF-Jackson/Nachbar... w/ Nachbar 6th man of the year
    PF-Howard/Taylor
    C-Yao/Zwikker

No because the Magic will send the Nuggets our pick instead of theirs. If you have multiple first rounders you can choose which one you send away to complete a deal.

Lets think about it, its pretty impossible we are getting Nelson,Tmac and howard for Francis, Cato and mobley.

One thing i gotta say is we can't trust the word of these so called supertars like T-Mac claiming that he will only, Only play for a certain team, these guys are the most capricious people on the planet,

    evidence

    1) didn't he say just a couple of wks ago he was planning something with Shaq to Dallas until his agents told him to shut up and not so far ago he said all the big teams vying for his services 'he was interested in phoenix, indiana, houston etc,,,

and one more thing even if his comments about houston is sincere

alot can change in a season, ie., let's say he gets traded to phoenix and he plays with them for a year with Admare
in that year phoenix would be constantly pampering and pushing him to sign the extension with them and what if they become a pretty good team and he really get's along with stoudemire (stoudmire's numbers are actually better than Yao) do u think he will actually stick with his plans to come to houston and have to settle starting fresh all over again with new city and different team. These guys at the top have short memory spans, one year is a long time and alot of things could happen and t-mac might think houston as a distant memory.

These quotes saying t-mac will "only play with houston" should be taking with a grain of salt.

I really want T-mac here in houston to play with Yao, probably the most exciting season for the rox for me but as time goes by these delays in finalzing the deal has the deal looking more and more dead when we have to rely on the so called words from T-mac saying houston is It and only It when not too long ago he was shooting off a number of teams in the air.

What worries me more is that Stern has not announced the Suns trade of their #7 pick yet. Yikes!
