Jamal Crawford is one of those disease players that you always hear about. Always crying because he is expected to compromise. Cry Cry Cry......... Not what the Rockets need.
Not to get too far off topic, but I'm not even sure that Josie Maran would look good in our particular pinstripes....yes, this is a desperate but oh-so subtle appeal for a picture....
Francis had 9 assists in that game. He averaged, what? 4 apg in the other three games? But I know that getting 9 could be a good sign that he's heading in the right direction. And by the way, people, as someone in the Midwest who has watched one too many Bulls game, I can say this: Crawford has a right to be incensed. He knew as did everyone that drafting Jay Williams meant he, Jamal, would be the odd man out; but he went with Krause's lies and Cartwright's back-patting ("you'll have a right to earn the starting spot.") Williams did not outplay Crawford for the starting spot but of course the #2 pick in the draft isn't gonna ride the pine. Ironically, the Bulls stick with the triangle, although Jay Williams has publicly bashed it, basically saying it takes away his strength at the fast break; and didn't Big Chief Triangle (Phil Jackson) always prefer tall guards because the triangle worked better with them? (or, rather, they worked better with the triangle?) Jamal Crawford is 6'5" and can probably get 5-6 assists a game (at this stage in his career). Yes, numbers can be trivial, and such numbers don't even indicate a "top-notch" point guard. But they might indicate someone who can get the ball to other players. Michael Jordan also coveted Jamal Crawford and that would have inflated Jamal's sense of worth. But I think he's good. Do I think he'd be a Rocket? Doubtful. You'd have to throw around too many spare parts to make an even trade of it. And our team would get even younger as a result of trading for him. Jamal is on the block, though. He'll be traded....somewhere. But wherever he goes, I don't think he's a "disease player."
Jamal Crawford is a SG, at least he should be. Everyone wants him to play the point but the guy has a scorer's mentality and does well at it. I don't understand why so many people want to convert guys like Crawford and Hughes to PG. They have the size to play SG and the mantality, so let them stick to that. He's had issues since high school, so if the Rockets are interested, they better do some research.
Steve's play is elevated big time so far. That should continue. ( I may have to change my screen name, but not this season.) Cat is instant offense. Both are marginal defensive players. Why wouldn't you want a legit 1 who can play D and dish to mix with Steve and Cat. The problem is not how good or bad Moochie is. It's that we can improve so much by replacing him with an upgrade. And it's not like we can't find an upgrade for Moochie. The guy is limited and should be on the bench for practice and locker room chemistry. Period. Doesn't have to be Crawford although he is a definite upgrade to Norris.
hmmm, JC? I'm reluctant to comment becuse there isn't much merit in this hypothesis. In his relatively short Career at Michigan, he almost pulled a Chris Webber. On the court, he played wild, but is a atheletic and active shooter. He has that shooter mentality. Bring him to the point, is a regress.
