Meet the man behind one of the oldest, most radical street casting agencies, Ugly Models, Mr Marc French Which one are you? https://i-d.vice.com/en_au/article/...ly-we-talk-to-ugly-models-founder-marc-french
Driving back Tuesday night I saw something I had never seen before. About a half mile in front of me, three police cars blocked all three lanes with their lights going, they slowed the whole Northbound lanes to 10 miles an hour and we drove like that for 3 or 4 miles. All this right when the front line was passing over and the clouds looked very tornado like. It turned out a pedestrian tried to cross the freeway (Cinco De Mayo celebrant?) and was killed. I guess they were clearing a gap to clean up.
From the article: Island-born businessman and billionaire Tilman Fertitta said Wednesday he was grateful to state Sen. John Whitmire, a Houston Democrat, who reached out to the Texas Department of Transportation with a request to reschedule the I-45 closure. “This is why we have leaders and can call on elected officials to make this happen for us,” said Fertitta, who owns the Landry’s Hospitality empire that includes Landry’s Seafood House, Rainforest Café, San Luis Steakhouse, Saltgrass Steakhouse, Willie G’s and Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Co., among other concepts in Galveston. His company also owns Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, where rides are closed until at least May 18.
Galveston requests state help managing tourist crowds https://www.galvnews.com/news/free/...gn=blox&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social The city made a formal request for Department of Public Safety officers to assist local first responders in managing tourist crowds last week and was denied, city spokeswoman Marissa Barnett said. Almost 119,000 cars crossed the causeway into Galveston over the three-day weekend, according to city data. More than 2,000 cars parked at both Stewart Beach and East Beach over the weekend, almost 1,000 in both parks on Sunday alone, according to Galveston Park Board of Trustee, which manages those parks.
I remember Landry's being a nice place to eat years ago -- was this before Mr. Tillman bought the restaurant?
