Sounds good Because usually when someone just responds "okay" it's like a dismissive thing but that wasn't your intention.

Edwards didn’t shoot a league avg of .366 from 3’s. He didn’t deserve that bag lol

He is an offensive player alright, to be an alpha dog you have to lead when you are down in games, and that has been Fred's job on both ends.

In 3 miserable years of Jalen being a Rocket he has been consistent. Contrary to the normal narrative that he is the opposite his shooting splits show he is consistent year to year. He is just bad at basketball.

In all 3 years his FG% hovers around 42%. His 3P% is dropping year on year but let's take the average and call it 33.8%. His Freethrows are a positive trend so okay we can accept 80% here.
His TS% is consistently around 54%.

So why should we believe he will now put up these Ant numbers?
An extra 4% from the field, 1.2 from 3 while managing 2% extra in TS. Why would this sudden jump now be conceivable? The same reason we were told to expect a 3rd year leap too?

Then there are assists. Jalen averages 3.5. About 1 whole assist less than Ant did in year 3 at 4.4. So Ant is a better s over and playmaker.

Green isn't even in the same conversation as Ant.

It was mainly their third seasons where ant pulled ahead. Their first two seasons het had pretty much the exact same ts%, ppg, apg, tov etc.

Ant had continuity though from his second to third season.

I think a jump from his second year numbers of 22 ppg and 54% ts is a reasonable expectation. In his third year he had a coach who made him expend energy on defense, had to deal with a different offensive structure etc that dipped his scoring trajectory but after a year of conditioning of giving energy on both sides of the court he might improve on his second year scoring numbers.

Not really that hard of a sell to see Green output Ant offensive numbers in a year or two. That really isn't an absurd claim. The more difficult ask would be mimicing Ant's defensive presence.

So if Jalen meets those benchmarks like Ant, he's worth the max? Or are you just ranting to yourself whilst not addressing the post you quoted for ***** and giggles?

Thanks I didn’t realize that. I’m always looking for level headed discussions without all the crazy emotion for this player or that. I think I’ve been clear about Jalen. I want him to succeed, but it needs to be this year and hopefully from the start of the season. I agree he is the best at breaking down defenses in the half court and we really don’t have a replacement on the team this year. Amen might get there, but it will take him awhile. I voted somewhat optimistic on the poll. It was also why I was in favor of trading for a Brogdon type if the price was right. If Jalen gets hurt, who steps in? BTG will say Sheppard, but it will take him all year to become anything more than a spot up shooter in the half court. They should have had a better plan for backup sg than re-signing Holiday and hoping Cam can play out of position.

Nothing I said was impolite. You quoted a post then didn't even address it, it's just a waste of both of our time.

I think some people are going to be optimistic even if he gets off to a bad start next year. They'll be optimistic even if he finishes the year bad. They'll be saying he's only [ ] years old. They'll draw comparisons to one off success cases.

Looking at the past retrospectively, folks already do that and say those things.

When I refer to self awareness.... It's this.

Do you think your.meta debates about "Jalen stans" helps tone done toxicity or elevates it?

Are you capable of just discussing the basketball aspect of Jalen Green rather than having meta debates about how Jalen Green fans?

Let's be honest. At this point the dude isn't even discussing the Rockets, he's only discussing his beef with people supporting a Rockets player. That's the entirety of his current contribution to the forum, it's super pathetic.

That has nothing to do with sexuality. Terrible analogy. What is known though is people often hate what they are. Deep rooted resentment for others who possess characteristics, behavior, or traits you yourself have but hate or deny yourself. Self hatred. In this case it’s sexuality. J Edgar was a known homosexual and cross dresser but waged a war to persecute gay federal employees. Self hatred. This is not new.

Or the opposite if he plays well. They will say once again it’s a “fluke”. It’s not sustainable. It won’t last. And they are ready to see him stumble. Oh wait they already have done this.
